    Aloha everyone,

Loli, I wish you better :dbgrtmb:. Should you really be going to work when you have a stinker? You should really be tucked up in bed with a book and a hot toddy. :)

Moyra, no, it didn't need a motherboard. He was able to repair the boot sector. :blue thumb: You wouldn't be able to make the remedy without all the gear she has - including an expensive machine!

Yesterday morning's drive to London was easy and I did the return journey in two hours. The afternoon journey took over three and a half hours!! Even with nearly six hours of driving I still managed to get some gardening done and a load of cooking.

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

      Evening everyone
I hope everyone is well - or as well as can be expected. I keep looking at that chicken above me! Had to go out today but it was quite a nice day , the spring flowers are all peeking through in the park now. We need some sun so the crocuses (or is it crocii?) :snork: open up.
Enjoy your evening, I am chilling watching Coronation Street!

      Aloha everyone,

Hi Minnie, good to see ya! :dbgrtmb: :)

Sunny but cold out there, not sure whether I'll brave it this morning and it's bridge this afternoon. I had an enjoyable match last night where we had a good win :blue thumb:

Yesterday,I got my insurance renewal notices for house, contents and both our cars and have started shopping around. I've already got some cheaper quotes - total saving, £250. I'll phone my insurance broker today and bargain them down.

When they're asking questions they also ask how much the car is worth. With my car I said 'I don't know, I'm not a car dealer'! They weren't happy with that and said I have to give them a value. So I asked if the value made any difference to the premium - and they said, 'No'!  When they didn't ask me to give a value for Mrs Shiney's car I pointed out that they hadn't asked the question. They said that they didn't need me to tell them as the computer had come up with a valuation. So I asked them what it said and they told me it was £300 :heehee: - it is 13 years old :)

Barry phoned me again yesterday and said he has got a letter from the Council saying he will no longer be entitled to Council Tax benefit as he has savings above £6,000. Apparently they've just dropped the limit from £16,000 to £6,000 . I have to go round there and read everything to see whether that is the case, and fill in the forms.

Keep warm and have a great day

      Aloha!

      Aloha everyone,

Shiney, my little car if you can remember it rightly is getting on in years and probably like Mrs S's not worth much on the book but to us they are lovely little run abouts and if maintained well do not cost us a lot to run. I keep wondering if I shall keep her going though after my 70th birthday in two years time. Not sure I can justify it but it does mean that I shall lose out on the likes of attending your Open Day and the odd monthly lunch out with friends if they are too far away. Just when I seem to be getting to grips with my aggraphobia.

Lili, Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather, it is strange how these 'off' days come about I had one last week but it went as it came or just as quickly hope yours does too.

Loli tough month for you then coming so soon after the Christmas month as well. Hope things pick up for you.

Waves to WOO, Jazmine, Kandy et al. Hope you are all well, take care stay safe and warm and have a good day all.

      Aloha!:wub2:

      Good afternoon everyone,

Been very busy of late, doing a spot of spring cleaning round the part of our village where we live,in the greenhouse/shed,and the main house with cleaning windows in the house and conservatory now that we have some sunshine and the snow has all gone:biggrin:.Also been on some good walks with Mr Kandy to keep the fitness levels up now that i am not any meds for the time being,oh and we have also been clearing up the dead plant material that we couldn't clear away due to all the rain/snow,although we had eight Goldfinches feeding on the seeds of my Evening Primrose plants as well as the Nyger seed i put out for them:snork:

We have some Bearded Tits in the county so hope they stay long enough for us to go and see them or else it would be a trip all the way to Minsmere to see them.

Hope everyone is feeling better and if you want a good tonic, just listen if you can to Jonathon Vernon Smith on Three Counties radio,as his laughter always makes me start laughing as well and brightens up my day:biggrin:

      Enjoy your day everyone:smile:

      Good morning everyone:smile:

Moyra, i won't know if the exercise is doing some good until i go and have some blood tests done next month and then a visit to the nurse.I just wish i could go on a diet and lose the weight but for me it doesn't work like that.:gaah: Everything is being done at a slow pace due to painful bones and i am just praying we get a nice hot summer this year:biggrin: Sorry to hear you have been feeling depressed, you probably need the sun like i do and hope that you start to feel better soon:grphg: :wub2:

Well i had a good afternoon in the garden as it was so nice and sunny and got loads done again and am hoping the sun therapy does me some good:spinning:

      Aloha everyone,

I seemed to be busy doing nothing yesterday  but I got a fair amount of research done on a number of little projects. This morning is my regular visit to the chiropodist.

I've filled up the bird feeders this morning and the wind is very cold. I also put out the bones, that still have meat on them, from the chicken that I made a soup from. The moment I got indoors Monty was there having chicken for breakfast :). He's now sleeping it off in the greenhouse. He tends to be very nervous of us, not like Sarafi, but we shall be cat feeding him in a month's time when his humans will be away.

Kandy, you seem to be getting on well in the garden :blue thumb:

Moyra, yes, I remember your car. It's fairly expensive to keep even an old car nowadays but, if it's the only way you can get yourself out for these bits of socialising then it's worth it. If you're able to take a taxi for those things then that may work out cheaper in the long run - but I don't know whether you're able to do that.

Don't forget to renew your drivers licence in a couple of year's time :). If you have a bus pass, they're due for renewal this year but Essex are one of the counties that say they will do it automatically . Some other counties have forms to be filled in. I haven't received my new one yet but I'll give them till the middle of next month before I chase them.

All of you that are feeling under the weather, I wish you lots better :dbgrtmb:

Keep well, wrap up warm for the next few days, and have a great day

      Aloha!

        Good morning everyone,
I'm sure Monty is feeling very contented now after his breakfast Shiney:cat-kittyandsmiley:
All that fresh air will be doing you the world of good Kandy and we've had a few good days to enjoy it but it's turned very dull and chilly here :frown:
Here's hopeing for alovely warm summer it'll be the best tonic for all of us:dbgrtmb:

I'm going to have a serious chat with my chooks today....they seem to have turned into unruly teenagers and are becoming quite distructive:old: the lawns are fenced off due to being still waterlogged so they're 'safe' for now...they chooks don't ruin it when it's dry and they're scratching around but you can imagine what they do when it's sloppy:gaah: my Daylillies and snowdrops took a beating yesterday and you can see the 'girls' are just out to make mischief...so a quiet word is in order:biggrin:

        Wishing everyone well,
Have a great day and takecare:SUNsmile:
