Hi Shiney, he actually used a ladder to get on the roof and then used a cat ladder to get up to the ridge of the roof and then pressure hosed both sides downwards. The roof actually changed colour going back to it's original shade!!! Plus there was several buckets of moss, muck and debris off the roof and from the gutters. That was a major job in itself but he was a real perfectionist in his work and did a cracking job on the barge boards, soffits, roof of the front window and all the double glazing frames. He even cleaned the Iron Weather Vane on the roof and it sparkles now. As it was one of my neighbour's drove into the Grove as he was packing up and hired him to do the same immediately on his house. Needless to say the Contractor was a happy man to have another job straight away!!! I'm having him back to do one or two more jobs when the weather is warmer and kinder!!

Worth his weight in gold - what a find. Armandii,it lifts my heart to read of your praise for the quality of the work he has done. I know you have pretty high standards yourself so he must be good.
        I wish him well,

Yes, it's hard times out there for self employed contractors and he spends a lot of time searching for work and is determined to get recommended by people he's done jobs for, and I take my hat off to him:snork:

          Aloha everyone,

I'm not sure what the day is going to bring today but there's always lots to do in my office. I keep telling myself that I've got to go through all my box files and clear out unnecessary paperwork. Most of the files don't close properly as they are so full.

There are over 30 of them, which means looking at thousands of pages! The thought has exhausted me so it's time for another cuppa. :coffee:

In the meantime, I've got a couple of charity events to organise and a family get together to sort out in a couple of weeks.

          Have a great day

          Aloha!

          Aloha everyone,

Morning WOO, it's not very nice here either. The rain is just holding off. Armandii, that chappie certainly deserves some recommendations then. Loli have a good day at work. Two starlings had Steve in stiches apparently they were both attacking the same half cocunut as one pecked it one side it swung round to the other bird who then pecked it and it swung back to the first bird and they played see saw with it for ages.

Shiney do not envy you your 'filing' job. I have to do the same every so often so I treated myself to an industrial shredder, brilliant piece of equipment.

Kandy, hope you are feeling better today. Waves to everyone conspicuous by their absence and hopes you are all ok.

          Aloha!:wub2:

Spent the day in the Office in Manchester so I could only look out of the windows to see the sun shining and blue skies....still it cheered me up. When I got home a neighbour gave me a parcel for me that had been delivered by a courier and he'd taken it for me.......a "feel good" present to myself!!!
Off to Shropshire tomorrow to take my sister to Shrewsbury so she can do some shopping and then a meal somewhere.:snork:

A bit of part indulgence, Lolimac, and part practicality. I bought a great camera last year and have been scouring around collecting the lenses that I thought I needed for it. But one of my interests is wild life photography and for that you need a big lens. So as the very last lens I've boughtl a 500mm telephoto lens which was in the parcel.:snork: It will make the Bank Manager wince but I've taken my time and waited for a good price for the lens I wanted. So I'll be wandering around in camoflage looking like a walking tree trying to sneak up on birds and animals to get their pics. :heehee: But I don't smoke and contrary to popular myth I don't really drink a lot so I take the stress out of Life with photography, gardening and fishing...the last two blend well with the first.:coffee:
