    Aloha everyone,

A busy day today so I'll be brief. :)

I'm just waiting for the mower to be collected to be taken to the health farm. It should come back feeling fit and well for the new grass growing season. :heehee:

Then I've got two meetings - both here - and then taking some elderly people out to lunch. Another meeting in the afternoon, maybe squeeze in a bit of gardening and then a bridge match in the evening.

Open Day details will be posted when I get a moment. :dbgrtmb:

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

      Aloha everyone,

When I asked Steve about taking a day off he said he would probably be up to his neck in work so I said all the more reason for you to have one days rest to look after Amber. I think it should be ok I will keep my fingers crossed.

Shiney you seem to have a lot on your plate at the moment. I hope you manage to get through it all.

WOO yes, the weather here is much the same as yours after all there is only a strip of river running between our homes.

Have a good day everyone and those under the weather, hope you feel better soon.

      Aloha!:wub2:

Good evening all. Got well and truly told off by the vet. Told that unless we get this weight off her she could end up with diabetes or heart failure as well as osteoarthritis in her joints. I thought Oh Lord a replica of myself then so I must take this seriously. She was as good as gold getting her into the car. I took her out about 11am in the car to the local park and then with the aid of the rollator we managed a tour of the lakes. There were no other dogs there so I was able to let her off to have a run. Then of course I came back cleaned her up and then took her to the vets. By the time I got back from the vets Steve was home and he took her for a walk over the back fields so she really did well on the exercise today. Just got to cut down on her food. But at least I now know she has got over the fear of riding in the car which is good because then I can take her down to one of the large parks where there is less likelihood of her meeting other dogs round the back way where I can let her off to run her fat off. Well catch up tomorrow.

                  Aloha everyone,

What a miserable morning it is.

Loli, it will be hard to cut her down, but she will have to whimper away and I shall have to grow a thick skin. I don't have to tell you what they are like when they want something.

WOO, what have you done with our lovely sunrises?

I wonder where Shiney is this morning, still he was rather busy yesterday.

Have a good day all despite the weather.

                  Aloha!:wub2:

moyra that is great news about Amber adjusting to travelling by car  Opens up all new possibilities for you both (especially now you have your Rollator too!). Did the vet go further and advise how to get her weight down? Advice on amount/type/frequency of food? It's all well and good telling you off, but vets need to advise you on how to deal with the issues too.

wiseowl - ditto the weather! I can't see the end of my garden this morning.

lolimac - are you recovered from that beastly cold?

Penny in Ontario - I feel the same way about how fast this week has run away with us; but, you're right, means it is nearer to Spring :spinning:

shiney - hope all your meetings were productive ones :)

First on my list today is flat pack furniture assembly for the bathroom *groan*. Mr Mum has his tools at the ready, but, if anyone remembers last year and him putting together my manger for the garden, he's bound to put something on back to front or upside down :wallbanging: So, I'll have to be 'CEO of the Flat Pack' for the morning.

Also need to pot up a couple of Hostas that needed soaking before planting. Never grown them before so I'm hoping they will do as they are told and grow :heehee:

Just as a side note, went shopping at Lidl yesterday and bought a whole trolley full of goods (have an exchange student coming on Sunday for a week and, apparently, when son was there, they make up huge packed lunches - it sets the tone!); then went on to Asda for some other bits (a third of a trolley) and the bill came to the same as the Lidl shop for far fewer bits. I'm going to rethink my shopping habits and go back a decade or two in attitude and practise. Food is becoming so expensive!

Wishing you all well and a day filled with miles of smiles xMx

                      Good morning everyone,
Same here Woo and breezy too....but still early days:dbgrtmb:
Hope you got everything done you planned Shiney....thanks for the Shineyland OpenDay details:dbgrtmb: take it easy...you're making me dizzy:phew:
I've rang my work to inform them i shan't be in over the weekend....they are none to pleased about it but then again neither am i....this cold of mine has really taken a hold and it's ridiculus continuing to try and 'work' it off....i'm just making my cause worse...common sence does prevail in the end:rolleyespink:
Wishing everyone well, keep warm....we're set for some nasty weather over the next week....

Have a good day everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

Just goes to show how rough you feel Loli because it is unlike you to yeild to a cold without a fight. I do hope you feel better soon and a R & R over the weekend should help.

Mum, The vet was only a youngster but he did try to encourage me to join their weight watchers for pets. He also said if cutting down on her tit bits didn't bring about results then I could try a reducing calorie controlled dog food which is on the market now. I don't really want to get involved in a fortnightly meeting and a monthly weigh-in but I shall be strict with her and see how it goes. Now I have the rollator and can get her into the car without too much trouble then I can take her for longer walks.

                              Morning everyone,

Its Friday!! And its the starty of March break for us here, and the weekend is supposed to be gorgeous!!

Off to Toronto shortly, get down and back before all the traffic starts heading north to where i am.

Got a good start on my cleaning yesterday, got most in the windows done on the inside, no point on attempting outside when its supposed to rain on Sunday.

                              Enjoy your day everyone.

                              Aloha everyone,

I've been rather busy since 5 a.m. this morning. Emails and internet thingies took up about three hours. Then, whilst I was trying to get my breakfast sorted I had to deal with a load of phone calls. I ended up getting breakfast at 10 a.m.!

Then it was dealing with the snail mail. Last week I had the renewals on all my insurances and spent time getting them quite a lot cheaper. Today the papers for them came in and I've found lots of errors. The insurance agents had filled in some new proposal forms as we were changing insurance companies. Fortunately I checked every section because they had made a number of errors and some of them were so stupid.

Right, I'm going to sort out lunch now - yum yum :)

                              Have a great day

                              Aloha!
