    Good afternoon everyone.

Late on here due to us going in to town to have a hair cut and doing a bit of milk shopping then after a quick sit down at home drove to where there were some Waxwings near Morrisons distribution center, but had to wait about 30minutes until they returned but was lucky enough to get some picckys of them but the quality isn't that brilliant on my compact camera but they are good enough for me so it was a good spot and we have now got our Waxwing fix for this year:dancy::yay::yes::hapydancsmil::hapfeet:

Hope everyone is ok and that you all have a great afternoon:smile:

Thanks Shiney, enjoy your bridge match and WOO thank you my friend for your kind remarks. Well the day lacked sunshine but at least it was dry. They say it is going to get colder but hey that may mean more sunshine, fingers crossed. Take care all and have a good evening. Night night, God Bless. xxx:wub2:

            Aloha everyone,

I had a very enjoyable day yesterday. Good competitive bridge against very friendly opposition. Only won 50% of my matches but happy with the way we played. :dbgrtmb:

Take care everyone and don't overdo things. Enjoy the unseasonably mild weather and have a great day

Ooooh Loli Cramp! I do suffer a lot with it but I have tried drinking tonic water but it doesn't seem to help it.

WOO hope you are keeping well, my son Steve is having a bad attack with his back at the moment, his cartilege in the spine like mine is deteriorating fast. He says we both have a lot to thank the nursery for.........he means humping half hundred weight sacks of bulbs around as well as large loads of irish loam on our backs too. The humping of sacks of bulbs would be somewhere between 6 and 7 ton at a time from Spalding, Lincs. and then onto vans going to local markets. We were both young when we were engaged in these exercises. I started at 14 and Steve being born on the nursery was even younger showing off more than anything that he could do it. But never relied on to help until he was about 14 like I was. Where was the School Board Officers then and the employment of youngsters? Nobody asked me or him. We were helping the family. or he was I didn't actually marry into the family until I was 17.

There's a little of my history for you all. (Now you know why I suffer badly with my joints and back!) Have a good evening all. God bless.

Hi Moyra my friend yes my (lifting) working life started at 12 years old, on a large farm, tractor driving, lifting sacks of potatoes(wet sacks)hay baling ,cabbage cutting,
always remember the old hands often saying to me"hard work never hurt anyone"
as most of them used to walk with a stick:heehee: school of hard knocks for yours truly, the summer's were just great, remember laying in the field's staring at the sky listening to all the Skylarks, but the winter's were something else:phew: Moyra thanks for the your little bit of history and have a lovely evening:)

Wow, it seems we all did similar things. When I was working the market (started age 11) I was humping cwt sacks of spuds around. Never thought much about - it was part of the job.

Loli, sorry ot hear you've had cramp in the leg. I'm another one with that problem (also get bad cramps under the feet) and have to wear heavy duty pressure stockings all the time!

Reading all this is getting bit depressing :heehee: but things are quite good apart from that. :dbgrtmb:

Sending healing vibes to all who are enduring some pain/discomfort/ailment.

Mr Mum has been suffering with his knees, for what feels like months! The other day, the silly billy fell off a ladder and bruised below his ribs. In typical "male martyrdom" style (for the benefit of work) he has not complained - but (for the benefit of Mum) has complained, winced, ooched and ouched at strategic moments. Last night, I gave him one Ibruprofen .... (wait for it! :nonofinger: ) .....

.... he had the best nights sleep he has had in ages! He's on nights now, for the next few, and he's been sent off with some more meds to get him through. I do wish he would go to the GP about his knees; he says, "Oh I had this when I was playing football, I'm sure it will pass" ... that was many, many moons ago dear and you haven't even played footie since then (hence, no comparison!).

Hmm, maybe that Ibruprofen trick will work in teaching him he really doesn't have to suffer and simple things can make a wealth of difference. Ok, I can dream :heehee:

Wishing all my GC friends peace of mind, peace in your heart and a good nights sleep! xMx
