    Aloha everyone,

Well despite my bad back yesterday, I couldn't let such a lovely day go by without getting some work done in the garden. I managed to get the two Whicker troughs filled up and whereas I filled them with veg last year, this year I am going to fill them with flowers instead. Probably fuschia and geraniums. I also managed to cut the grass for the first time this year. It makes the garden so much more tidier. So today I have had to take more paracetamol on top of the old tramadol of course.

Lili sorry to hear you are both poorly. I hope you feel much better soon.

Loli, I must clear my plastic greenhouse out and start some tomatoes off and some cues too. Trouble is I suppose it will mean putting the frost stat heater in there to protect them. Although I could keep them indoors for a week or two once I get them going. So it will be off shopping for plants very soon. I shall have to get Steve on a day off if I can afterall what is bought will be down to him for my birthday and Christmas presents.

Shiney, glad you managed to get on yesterday. Really makes you feel better when you start to see the garden coming round to being presentable. But don't overdo things, says she who obviously did yesterday. Still Steve did give me a hand when he came home from work with tidying up the fence which needed some attention. Another of fanny Adams jobs, so much for landladies!

Well have a good day everyone and mind how you go. Waves to WOO, Kandy and Mum, et al. God bless.

    Aloha!:wub2:

Hi all, hope things are as well as can be expected.
    Still waiting here....
I managed to get in the garden yesterday as it was sunny here. I even removed a hedge all by myself. Have started tidying up lots of stuff too.

    Aloha everyone,

No rain here yet although when I checked the weather online it told me it was raining here.

I won't get much done in the garden today but I'm pleased with what we've achieved in the last few days. All we want now is for the plants to pick up. The Aquilegias had all been frost burnt but are now recovering. I hope they aren't too far behind by the time of Open Day.

The primroses have started to burst into bloom and a few cowslips have also started. Unusually, one of the red cowslips is the first to flower. They're normally way behind the yellow ones.

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

      Aloha everyone,

Chimneyrosegarden, sorry to hear you are in bed with a cold and hope you get better soon. Lots of nasty hanging on ones hanging about at the moment.

Shiney, drizzling here so no gardening for me today. Just had a visit by a police officer apparently there is a spate of burglaries in the area and he gave us a sheet of paper with advice on. I told him I discovered a hammer and a scewdriver under a hedge just by the next door neighbours hedge and pointed it out to him without touching it. I left him to contact the police as he had a break in recently. So I wonder if they were the tools used in the last break-in? He seem quite interested in it.

Well have a good day all, I hope you are able to get done what you have planned.

      Aloha!:wub2:

          Aloha everyone,

Well, the rain didn't appear yesterday but there is a bit of dampness out there this morning. Can't tell whether it's dew, mist in the night or was drizzle but it's beginning to brighten up.

We've got some workers in today to sort out the roof on the pergola that wasn't properly waterproof. It hasn't been right since they did it originally but haven't been able to work here because of the weather. They're going to completely rebuild it.

This evening we have to go quite a distance to a 'celebration of life' of one of our friends - the funeral was only for family.

We got quite a bit more work done in the garden yesterday even though I was out all afternoon. Mrs Shiney did a lot more than I did. :blue thumb:

Moyra, I reckon that the police came round because they thought you were a dodgy character! :snork:

Keep well and have a great day

          Aloha!

              Aloha everyone,

Well we did have a little drop of rain yesterday but not enough to moan about.
Shiney, I would like to know if the hammer and screwdriver I pointed out to the neighbour for him to tell the police as he had been broken into, whether it was anything to do with the other breakin the officer told me about. Be nice if it had some good fingerprints on them and they were able to tie it in with the breakin.

WOO lovely primroses dear I know it is not very nice here all dark and dismal still it might brighten up later. On the other hand Loli might get the little drop of rain she is looking for.

Have a good day all, back to the vets with Ambers ear problems. catch up with you later. Bye for now.

              Aloha!:wub2:

                  Hi everyone,

Well, well, what a lovely sunny day we had.

Managed to move plastic cover from its winter home, and now it's in the summer home in the garden. Will be able to move and re-home some plants from the conservatory.

That will be good, I will be able to start some seeds, and re-pot some plants.

OH had to have an x-ray on his leg, cellulitis is still giving him pain, so doctor gave him more penicillin. Blood test booked to see if he is anemic, because he feels tired all the time.

Looks like I shall be busy, had a phone call from a lady who lives in the care home I worked in, until I had to give up work last year, she wants me to help her in her flat 3 hours a day. Just what I need, gets me out of the house, and I earn a bit of money.

Perhaps I will feel a bit better as well, because the sun certainly makes me feel like doing things.

                  Waves to all.

Have a good time with the remainder of the day.

                  Bye. xxx:wub2:

                    Aloha everyone,

It was a good 'celebration of life' yesterday evening. There were lots of little speeches reminiscing about her life and she was a very strong willed person that was full of the joys of life. :blue thumb:

We've had a very small amount of rain overnight but it's dry now.

I got some more pressure washing done yesterday and hope to carry on with it today. Although my first job is to go into town to help Barry with his form that I applied for. That's the 'Discretionary Housing Payment' form where I shall attempt to get his 'bedroom tax' back from the Council. He says it's approx twenty pages asking all about his income and expenditure and his disabilities.

Keep well and have a great day

                    Aloha!
