    Aloha Everyone,

Jazmine, sympathies my dear, take care.

Shiney, You will wear yourself out before you are old enough to use this forum!

Loli, no I didn't get out to the garden centre, to be honest I am waiting for a day when Steve can come with me also my two troughs that are about waist high I am thinking of putting them back down to ground level as Steve wants to be able to see over the top of the to watch the birds from his room. So that means either I can only grow very short plants or I have to drop the troughs lower. The latter I think being the way to go.

Have a good day everyone, God bless. Waves to WOO, Mum, Kandy et al.

    Aloha!:wub2:

    Good morning everyone:smile:

Damp here this morning but at least it has watered the garden after the drying winds have done their work and the lawn is starting to look good after it's first cut of the year the other day:biggrin:

It is a treat to see the lovely spring flowers now and my cherry is just starting to come out,but as usual the winds will come and knock off the blossom like they usually do:gaah:

Saw our first swallows on sunday and when we were out and about saw a nice male Ring Ouzel feeding up before he heads north to the moors.

Was going to put up a photo of the bird but the computer says no {file too large}so will forget that idea:snork:

    Enjoy your day everyone:smile:

      Aloha everyone,

Well, that was a busy day yesterday :phew:. I haven't done the full figures yet but we raised about £800 for the charity :dancy:

Today will be a much more relaxed one :snooze: . I've done a couple of hours of paperwork already and shall have a leisurely breakfast soon. Then I'll do a couple of hours pressure hosing, relax until lunchtime and after lunch I shall do some mowing and trimming edges of the lawns. Then it's bridge club tonight.

Moyra, you could leave your troughs at the same height and have short floqwerring plants plus trailing plants. That can look quite good - like a lot of people do with hanging baskets. :blue thumb:

It's dry but dull so far this morning.

      Have a great day

      Aloha!

        Good morning everyone,

:wow: Shiney....£800 thats marvellous ...nice one:dancy:

Moyra....that's a good idea of Shineys:dbgrtmb:...it'll save alot of upheaval altering the raised beds:thumbsup:

Kandy... i was watching the blosom getting blown off the trees yesterday but luckily the winds have dropped here today:dbgrtmb:

When i was having a tea break in the garden yesterday... in the ivy within a foot of my head the Blackbirds were rummaging around...i was having a chat to them as i do:rolleyespink: asking them what they were up to....turns out they are building a nest:dancy: ...i'll need to be carefull not to disturb them but they don't seem at all concerned about me being so close:dbgrtmb:

Well..there's plenty to be getting on with, watering for a start ,that wind has certainly dried everything up.....

        Wishing everyone well:thumbsup:
        Have alovely day and Takecare:SUNsmile:

          Aloha everyone,

Shiney, I must admit I do not fancy emptying 3 sack fulls of soil out of each trough to be able to drop them down on the other hand if that is to be their permanent position then the sooner I do it the better. Think again maybe next year I will want to do the peas and veggies as I did last year in which case I would want them waist high again to manage. Oh darn it I will leave them at waist height and grow something fairly low in them.

Loli, you will have to get a picture if you can. Will be lovely to watch their little household progress.

Have a good day all, waves to WOO, Kandy, Lili, Mum et al Hope you are all ok. take care. Doesn't much look like a gardening day to me.

          Aloha!:wub2:

            Aloha everyone,

My word it was a quiet day on the thread yesterday. That wind out there today is something else. It is so strong and so noisy! Shall not be going far today except to walk Amber as necessary! Could do without that as well in that wind but never mind the devil drives.

Waves, to Kandy, WOO, Shiney, Lili, Loli et al.
Hope you are all ok everyone, have a good day. God bless.

I have managed to move the old bungalow bath around to the patio today and emptied the last remaining three bags of soil into it. My golly that does find the aches and pains. Thankfully I had the wheelbarrow to use to get the soil around from the back garden. It does test my mobility I can tell you. I am still not decided on the troughs though. The bungalow bath I think I shall use as I did last year and grow both Naturtians round the outer edge and then Sweet peas up two or three tripods of canes in the middle. we shall see how it goes.

I am looking forward now to sorting things out. But still a lot of work to do with regard to the two troughs. I do think they need dropping to floor level so that the patio tables and chairs can sit along side them. Shiney hope you are getting sorted.
ready for the open day. I am looking forward to being there, all being well.

Take care everyone and have a good evening all. God bless.

                Aloha everyone,

Yesterday I manmaged to do 6 hours of pressure hosing and then needed Mrs Shiney's ministrations prior to going to the bridge club.

I staggered around this morning until I could get my back straight and then went out and did another couple of hours hosing. I was interupted by one of Mrs Shiney's friends turning up wanting some advice on making her will (her husband doesn't like the way she wants it done). I told her that I could give her advice about the will but I don't solve marital problems! :heehee:

An hour later, when I wanted to get the pressure washer going again in wouldn't start up! So I've done some mowing and trimming the edges of the lawns. I'm still K. N. Ackered but am just about to leave to go to an AGM.

                Aloha!

After those awfull gales sadly the Blackbirds nest had become dislodged and slid out of the Ivy into the Blueberry....i was going to attempt to wedge it back in but have left it alone...it's such a shame ...after all their hard work:sad: also found another nest on the lawn that had blown out of one of the conifers....:frown: The wind appears to have died down now but i think more is expected.....
I've been doing my usual bird scareing tactics, this time with the Stoggies:rolleyespink:good job i was over generous with the grass seed as that is the latest 'special' on the menu at the moment....

                      Aloha everyone,

Loli, That is a shame about the nests. Those poor birds all their hard work.

Shiney, you remind me of a wizard in the olden days where someone with a problem always go to have their problems resolved for them. You seem to attract all these bods who seem to have appointed you as their wizard and with Hannah's special work as well seems quite appropriate. Lol.

Good to see you WOO, keep that head of yours screwed on right dear, you'd be lost without it. Waves to Kandy, mum, lili et al. Hope you are all ok.
