    Aloha everyone,

Another bright sunny day. Just right for washing the rest of the outside summerhouse down with anti-fungal wash (more commonly known as bleach :heehee:). I've got to make sure that all the plantlife underneath is covered in plastic.

I also want to get started on hedge cutting. Nothing too heavy in the way of cutting but it needs tidying up. There's only about 150ft of privet and 50ft of conifer hedge. Then there's still work to be done on the lawn edges. Hopefully, the 50 x 7ft bean canes I ordered will turn up this week but they said it could take up to 10 days. Some of my old ones have broken or are being used as deer deterrents.

The cutting shouldn't be too hard (about five or six hour's work) as I can stand upright for that but picking up the clippings is another matter! In theory that should only be 30-45 minutes but I'll have to leave that to Mrs Shiney who is going to be away all day.

She's off on a coach trip to Myddleton House and Gardens - what used to be the home of Mr E. A. Bowles, the plantsman. As it's only round the corner from Capel Manor they'll probably go there as well. Both are well worth visiting if in the area.

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

    Aloha everyone,

Another beautiful morning but the wind is cruel out there. Never mind as long as we can see the sun. Steve has saved me lots of money he has done all my garden edges and beds so it all looks lovely and tidy now. I gave the grass and cut and it certainly makes a difference.

Hell of a job to clear the area under the birds station though lot of long grass(wheat) I think. For some reason the birds do not eat that seed. I bought that seed from Pets at home it was dearer than round the corner at a little pet shop and I was kicking myself for buying it when just a mile or so further on is this little pet shop and as I say their seed is cheaper and a much better mix for the birds.

Got to make up some more coconuts today as they are getting through two half coconuts per day so that means I have to make a load up every week! Still I keep 8 slabs of lard and 2 boxes of suet in my fridge ready all the time. So only leaves me the seed and mealworm etc to add.

Shiney you mind your back today dear don't go over doing things. Have a good day all and take care of your backs.

    Aloha!:wub2:

    Aloha everyone,

Oh Lili, that does sound painful, hope it is more comfortable this morning. Oh Shiney I bought some extra bean canes last year and am not using this year, I don't think unless I find a container I can put some sweet peas in.

Going to be another lovely day today, hope it warms up a bit. Must go and put my washing out. Should dry without any problems today.

Have a good day everyone and no overdoing those backs. Take care.

    Aloha!:wub2:

    Aloha everyone,

Lili, I hope you're feeling better this morning :blue thumb:. It must be very sore

Moyra, I managed to get all the hedging done and I did the clearing up :dancy:. I don't quite feel like the dancing man but my back isn't too bad :blue thumb:. My arms are a bit wobbly, though :heehee:.

I was quite pleased with the job I did so I put it on the 'What jobs are you doing...' thread. :pathd:

I'm not going to do much out there today but may get the shears out and just trim a few edges this morning. It's bridge club this afternoon so I'll be able to take it easy and only exercise my brain. :)

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

      Good morning everyone,

      :ouch1: Poor Lili...hope the pain is easing:grphg:...

I should think you are taking it a bit easier today Shiney after all that hedge cutting:phew:but what a marvellous job you've done:love30::dbgrtmb:....

I need to get some washing done Moyra but i need to get more pegs ....i've used up most of mine making a makeshift 'blow away' affair with bubble wrap for my onions:heehee:

It's a lovely sunny morning out there albeit chilly...

      Waves to all...
Take it easy and take care:SUNsmile:

Know anyone who wants a small pond with its own waterfall effect extra. I do not want to throw it away but decided we didn't want it in the garden. Free to a good home.

            Aloha everyone,

This morning's frost has nearly gone and I hope the lovely sunshine will warm it up out there fairly quickly.

I'm just going to pop out there and move the sprinkler and turn it on. I had to put it on the veggie plot yesterday as the ground was too hard to get the weeds out. We've spread some seeds all over one half (amongst all the self-seeded flowers) and hope they germinate. They're seeds we collected from the Olympic garden last year. We'll just have to wait and see.

Keep well and have a great day

            Aloha!

              Good morning everyone,

What a beautifull morning:yahoo:it's lovely to have my wander without that distinctive nip in the air:blue thumb:....still feeling fresh but pleasant.....i've noticed alot of weeds popping up so that's on the agenda for today...apart from in the main border which is quite compacted but that's what i intended so as the dogs don't get too dirty when they are wandering around....plus the chooks have made short work of any weeds there....the other borders have 'chicken defences' round them ,so i need to battle through those first:)....

But first job is to get some baking done....the chooks have been working overtime:chicken:

Take it easy everyone and enjoy your day,Take care:SUNsmile:

                  Good morn ing everyone,

Hope you are all ok and enjoying this beautiful weather at the moment although i could do without that biting cold wind:snork:

We are nearly packed up and ready to go off to the wedding up in Shropshire so just hope the cold wind dies down or else i shall be shivering as i am not taking a coat to wear

As it is Mr Kandys birthday on Monday i might suggest we have a look round the Blists Hill Victorian Town as the reception is at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum so it would be fun to change our new money to the old sort:snork:

Mr Kandy had to go to a clinic the other day to have a flow test done and due to the results has to go on tablets for four months, but are having to wait forty eight hours for our dispensary to get them in

Anway, hope you all have a good weekend and a good week and hopefully will be back on line sometime soon

                    Aloha everyone,

Kandy, I hope everything is OK with Mr K and happy birthday to him :blue thumb:. Enjoy your wedding :)

Loli, when we were first married (almost 50 years ago :rolleyespink:) Mrs Shiney had two bantam hens as pets. We never had any problem with having to fence off areas of the garden as she trained them on what parts of the garden they were allowed to go. They were very obedient and would even 'roll over and play dead' when she told them to! They ignored anything I said! :heehee: She's very good with all types of birds and even picks up swans to give them a hug!!!

Today is going to be another warm and sunny day o I hope it will continue to get the plants to race ahead. I know the grass has really got going!

My pressure washer packed up and it's only just over two years old. I'm going into the store to negotiate with the manager over it. That's on the way to sorting out some things for Barry, getting my haircut, visiting some of my old staff and doing the shopping.

The police are still trying to find out what caused the deaths of two people who were found on the bottom of the swimming pool at a posh hotel near us! They were found on Saturday evening just as some guests were arriving for the planned Murder Mystery Weekend starting the next day:hate-shocked:

Keep well and have a great day
