    Aloha everyone,

I've been busy in the garden since early this morning. :phew:

We have celandine and violets. The celandine are in the lawn and get mown down regularly. The violets appear all over the garden and are allowed to stay if they're not in the way. One has even seeded in the fork of a silver birch!

I'm of out again to do some mowing.

    Have a great day

    Aloha!

      Aloha Everyone,

Good morning everyone. Feeling rather tender this morning after eating some shop bought sausage rolls yesterday left me creased up in pain; eventually I was sick which helped a little but still the pains continued until I fell asleep. So as I say this morning I am reduced to drinking hot boiled water as my stomach is still very tender. My roast pork dinner from yesterday is still in the fridge!

I hope you all have a wonderful day. Take care everyone, God bless.

      Aloha!:wub2:

              Aloha everyone,

Moyra, I wish you lots better :blue thumb:

Mrs Shiney has been working, for the last three days, sorting out the plants in our nursery area. These are ones that are between one and three years old. Most need repotting ready for sale and a lot are dead. I reckon she has another few days to go!

The rate of growth of everything needs me to spend most of my time cutting grass and trimming edges and I have to squeeze the other jobs in between that.

              Have a great day

              Aloha!

                Aloha everyone,

Feeling much better this morning, no pain just tail end rot.

Hope you manage to have a look in the GH before you go off to work Loli.

Shiney, things are growing quick now. This rain is going to help though. It will wash the feed into my grass and hopefully the grass should soon start to look greener. Hard to keep up with it all at the moment. Shall have a bit of reseeding once it does its work on the weeds and moss.

Hope everyone is keeping ok, WOO, Kandy, Lila, Mum et al. Have a good day all. God bless.

                Aloha!:wub2:

                      Aloha everyone,

Only two and a half weeks to go and we're in countdown mode (translate that as, frantically trying to get things ready :heehee:). I've got to pop up the road this morning to get another 1,000 plant labels!

Also trying to arrange people to help getting the marquee, tables and chairs to our place whilst not falling over each other. Transport for the marquee and bodies to help erect it (it's a concertina one so doesn't take too much effort if there are six of us to do it. One at each corner and two at the middle of the length - and then we all have to walk backwards and force the concertina hinges upwards).

I need help getting the thousand or so books out of the loft and to where the stall will be and Mrs Shiney will need a few hours, and help, to get the plant sale tables arranged and loaded.

Then there's the kitchen help to get organised (we'll soon be tripping over cakes as people deliver them), the village hall to co-ordinate with for availability of urns, work out the shopping needed (tea, coffee, sugar, lemonade etc - already got the Pimms :)).

Arrange for the use of neighbours' driveways for all day car parking for helpers and allocate them and give directions to driveways for them.

Loads of other things to do!

None of the Aquilegias are open yet  but I've got my fingers crossed - and that makes it difficult to do things! :snork: Laburnums are usually finished flowering and not a hint of colour yet, but I think it will be looking good by Open Day!

Loli, the edges of the lawn are not too difficult to get them like that :blue thumb: Hope your heating gets sorted out soon.

I think I had better get a few things done!

                      Have a great day

                      Aloha!

                        Aloha everyone,

Shiney you are plumb tuckering me out with all that work that has to be accomplished for your big day. I do hope the weather is going to be nice for it. Looking forward to meeting up with folk those that I met last year and some more that I have yet to meet for the first time.

Waves to WOO and Loli, have a good day folks. It is quite nice out there if it wasn't for the cold wind. They do say that it is going to get stronger and colder over the next few days so take care all. God bless.

                        Aloha!:wub2:

                          Aloha everyone,

Morning all, I lost the plastic cover to my walk in greenhouse the roof ripped in the wind last night. Thankfully, I have a spare new cover but have relocated all the geraniums etc to my glass fronted shed that acted as a greenhouse before I got the plastic covered one. So no urgency to recover, shall need help when weather is suitable to recover as I am not tall enough to do it on my own and Steve is incapacitated with a trapped sciatic nerve at the moment and in excrutiating pain. I actually gave him a couple of my tramadol, not that I want him to get addicted to them as I am.

Shiney, hope you are not overdoing things I know you are into panic mode now but your health is more important.

Waves to WOO, Kandy, Loli et al, Have a good day all. God bless.

                          Aloha!:wub2:

Moyra, sorry to hear about your blowaway. I'm used to being on the go all the time :blue thumb:. I've just got to be careful with my back. Things like weeding I limit to half an hour at a time.

I'm off out there again in a short while.

Glad you are respecting your back Shiney. As I say Steve is in such a bad way at the moment that I would hate anyone else suffering as he is. He has managed to get an osteopath appointment in Billericay next Tuesday morning. So hopefully they can help him out.

Hope everyone has achieved all they set out to do today. I have managed to get the new cover over the greenhouse and tied it all down well. If this one lasts as long as the last one 3 years I shall have no complaints. I have moved the tomatoes back in and strung them up again but the geraniums and other plants are still in the glass fronted shed. They wont hurt to stay there until they need moving. Steve took the tramadol for his back and it has enabled him to get about a bit more. He is still booked for the osteopath next Tuesday morning. Have a good afternoon and evening all.
