      Aloha everyone,

Lili, I hope you and your other half are feeling better this morning :blue thumb: and for all of you I wish you free from your aches and pains. I'm not feeling on top of the world this morning but I hope to perk up later :)

The bridge match went very well yesterday. We beat Northamptonshire 20 - 0 :dancy:. For those of you that don't understand the scoring, that's the best score we can get - but it doesn't fairly reflect the quality of the opposition. They played well but made more mistakes than we did.

Keep well, stay cosy and warm, don't take any chances in adverse weather conditions and have a great day

      Aloha!

Hi Everyone, the snow hasn't settled here yet. It is freezing now over the wet that the snow left behind.

I have just received a terrible e-mail from my dear cousin. He has been given 1 to 4 weeks to live that was 8 weeks ago. They have acquired an American drug for him to try but they are not expecting anything of it now. I have had a difficult job in writing to say goodbye to him. Very difficult.

      Goodnight everyone, night night.

moyra - so very sorry to read about your cousin; I can understand how very difficult that letter must have been to write but how lovely it must have been to have received his reply.

lili and Mr lili - wishing you both relief from your ailments; you really are going through the mill with it all!

loli - the techies were very fast this morning! And we have so many new toys to play with too :yay:

shiney - glad you enjoyed your bridge; hope you did perk up and are feeling much better today.

All of yesterday's snow has now gone, but we are expecting more tomorrow. Need to go out this afternoon for a dentist appointment and I can already guess there will be work to be done (I have never, ever been comfortable in a dentists chair - but then who ever says "Ooooh, goodie, I've got the dentist today!" ). On the plus side, there is a mahoosive garden centre directly opposite the dental surgery; so, if I need to exercise some self-comfort .....

My two lads are in exam mode at the moment (AS resits plus A2 modules) so things are a little less happy go lucky than usual here. Youngest "discovered" an email in his "Junk" folder this morning regarding his UCAS application and an amendment he needed to do before submission: today is deadline, so nows he's worried that his application won't go through  I'm confident it will but then, what do I know, I'm only Mum! :heehee:

Mr Mum's shifts have been a bone of contention since they were re-designed 14 months ago. (On the plus side, it gave me fodder for my dissertation and unique research :heehee: ) The shifts were to have been re-designed and, hopefully, implemented last November - didn't happen; finally, last week, a suitable shift pattern was agreed and could be implemented mid-February. Yesterday, he has now been informed it will be implemented in April and he (and some others) will need to be relocated!! Roll on April so we can finally make plans in advance for the first time in 14 months! :wallbanging:

Wishing you all a day of wellness and miles of smiles xMx

      Aloha everyone,

I hope all of you (and your furries) are feeling better. I'm trying to fight off a chest infection (Mrs Shiney's giving me remedies :blue thumb: ) and a cold.

Moyra, sorry to hear the news about your cousin.

Mum, I hope Mr Mum gets things sorted OK

I went out in the garden yesterday (wrapped up very warm) to try and sort out the bird feeders. They were in a disgusting state as we had been away for a month and then I hadn't really noticed how bad they were. Under the seeds in the bottom of the feeders there was loads of fungus growing and some of the seeds were sprouting!

The cleaning brush that I use can't reach to the bottom of the 3ft feeder and I usually use it as far as it will go and use the hose, on jet, to get to the bottom. This time, because of all the horrible gung in the bottom, I have had to take the thing apart. I unscrewed all the perches and crossbars, was then able to get a cleaning stick in through the holes and scrape out the gung (took about half an hour). Then I was going to hose it, run the brush through it, hose it out again, disinfect it and then screw it all up again. Unfortunately the hose is frozen solid . so I've now got the feeder sitting on the side until the freezing weather is over.

I gave the smaller feeders a temporary clean and have refilled them. Not the most hygienic way but it's the best I can do at the moment.

I've got a lot of things to do before I go to bridge just after lunch.

Keep well and have a great day

      Aloha everyone,

I hope everyone is ok and keeping well. Feeling very tired today but I had a restless night worrying about my cousin, not that worrying will change anything.

Have a good day everyone and stay safe and warm.

      Aloha!:wub2:
