    Good morning everyone,

    Happy 1st of July and only six months to Crimbo:dancy:

    Sounds like we have all been busy over the weekend.I know we have.:biggrin:

    We spent some of Saturday with Mr Kandy cutting back a lot of the growth on the cherry tree in our front garden,while I cut up all the small branches which got bagged up to take to the lottie for burning.After that was done Mr Kandy took out three purple hazels and a ceanothus that were taking over the front border by the gate so they are now all chopped up and at the allotment.Mr Kandy still has a couple of the roots to get out then we can get some compsot and ash into the ground ready for planting.In between all that,I sat and watched the Laura Robson match which was very good:biggrin:

    After we had eaten our evening meal we drove to the old disused railway line and walked part of that and then across the fields to another village and then back to the car.Mr Kandy wanted to go further but as it was 8.30 by this time and my toe was aching decided to head for home:snork:

    Sunday morning we headed for the lottie and was there by 9am and it was already warm.While Mr Kandy got some land rotavated for our greens that need planting out,I picked lots of strawberries and the first of our raspberries,and we also have peas and broad beans,shallots,onions,radish and lettuce coming on so all is looking good.:biggrin:

    Shiney,the hairdressers prices are not from so that is why I was surprised why they had increased them by £2 for a Saturday.I wonder if they will lose custom if they keep putting the prices up when it is the weekend.If the supermarkets hike up their prices on a poarticular item,then i don't buy it until it comes back down to a reasonable level.No wonder they can keep building the stores larger and larger with all the money they are making:hate-shocked:

    Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the lovely weather although rain is forecast for us by tomorrow so at least it will save me watering the garden and allotment:spinning:

    There is a lovely sunrise out there this morning but it feels a bit to chilly to go and get some photos:cool:

      It got too hot yesterday but a fairly strong wind helped to make it a bit more comfortable. I spent five hours working in the garden and then had to give up because of the heat. Things are looking a lot better now :blue thumb:

      When I went into the greenhouse at 6 p.m., with the hose, to water everything Sarafi was asleep in the propagator. He rolled over onto his back and stuck his chin up into the air - telling me he wanted his chin scratched. So I was scratching his chin with one hand and watering everything around him with the other. Water doesn't bother him at all! Sometimes he may be asleep somewhere in the greenhouse and we don't see him - so he accidentally gets watered as well. He just stands up, shakes himself and goes back to sleep. He's, also, the only cat we see wandering around the garden in the rain.

      A couple of our runnerbean plants have now reached the top of the canes and are climbing across the Shiney Frame :blue thumb:

      I hope to get a lot more work done in the garden today and the forecast says we won't have any rain for the next week. So it's sprinkler time again.

      It got very hot here yesterday too Shiney:phew: i did do a bit of pottering when i got home from work but it was still overpowering in the shade.....
      That would have made a lovely picture of Sarafi:cat-kittyandsmiley:

      Kandy....you and Mr Kandy sound like you were very busy over the weekend....hope your toe has stood up to it OK:blue thumb:

      It's cooler here today,still sunny though:dbgrtmb:.....much more comfortable to play catch up in the garden....

      I think it is going to be another hot day and I have so much work on. Beds to change, Bathroom to clean, household dust to move and lawns to cut and my back is aching already! Oh well the exercise will do it good! Lol.

        Good morning everyone,

        Another beautiful Rose to add to my ever growing list Woo:thumbsup:

        It's quite a bit cooler this morning but nothing a dressing gown won't fix:blue thumb:when i was talking to my neighbour yesterday she said she relys on me to know what the weather is like first thing in a morning....when she looks out of her bedroom window and see's me wandering...."if i've got my dressing gown on she knows it's cooler"...:heehee:...

        I've been watching two little Doves clumsily fluttering around the garden...they must have just left their nest,they were sat on the lawn and every passing bird whether it be a Blackbird,Blue Tit or whatever they crouched down and were squeaking to be fed....it was so cute to see....:)

          I've got to take Mrs Shiney to the station this morning as she's off to London to see the Queen. :heehee: Well, she's actually going to Buck House - so I suppose it's the same thing but I don't know whether the Queen will be there to greet her.

          I got a lot done in the garden yesterday but won't have much time to get a lot done today.

          I have company today for dinner, Roast Lamb and all the trimmings. Followed by Strawberry cheese cake and fresh strawberries and cream or ice cream. Prawn salad to start.

          Evening all. Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I did pop in and got lost and couldn't find the chat thread silly me.
          Have had such a lot going on here, hospital taking over our lives and didn't want to come on and be a misery which I was feeling unfortunately. Anyway to cut a long story short, OH is getting on well, hospital this Thursday to get more results and sort out his treatment, hopefully then we can get back to some normality.
          Will catch up soon, wish I was going to see the queen Shiney.

            Jazmine, welcome back :blue thumb: It's good to hear that OH is doing well - keep up the good work. :)

            Woo, I hope your wing is soon released with no harm :). Anyway, you don't really want to do any flying if it's raining so have a good rest today.

            Moyra, I hope your meal went well :dbgrtmb:

            Mrs Shiney had a good time yesterday and went to the Palace with an American friend. The Palace wasn't all that busy (actually, not busy at all) so they could wander round with no problem. Afterwards they went off to the theatre and saw Felicity Kendal in Relatively Speaking. She said it was hilarious and the best production of it that she has seen.

            Yesterday evening we had five minutes of drizzle but then there was light rain from 3.50 a.m. until 5.25 a.m. this morning. It's already drying up and, according to the forecast, it will get gradually hotter over the next week (too hot for me!).

            I'll get out there soon to do some weeding.
