    Good morning everyone,

It is so nice to have some sun for once and long may it continue until at least the end of September:cool:

We got to the lottie yesterday morning by 8.30am and it was quiet hot but managed to do some three hours of work before finally caving in.I dug up 1 and a 1/2 rows of new spuds and some of them were quiet large. Mr Kandy picked peas which I podded last night and then while he picked more blackcurrants I started on the raspberries which I shared with my blackbird friends:snork: I have now dug up the shallots so have to get them set out in the green house to help them dry:smile:

In the afternoon we popped out to the garden centre to buy more netting to protect the greens so that has cancelled out what we have saved through growing the veggies this year but had no choice because the stoggies are decimating the greens by standing on the netting and pushing it down to the greens :gaah::catapult:

It is foggy here this morning a sign of another hot day so we shall have to make an early start on the day when Mr Kandy wakes up:snork:

    Have a good day everyone:spinning:

Good morning Loli, and hope you are well.Yes everything is drying up and our grass verge is starting to look a bit crisp:snork:

Hope this hot weatehr isn't affecting your dogs and the chooks too much either as it must be unpleasant for the dogs with their thick fur

Hope you have a good day:smile:

    Aloha everyone,

It was too hot to be out in the sun yesterday and I think I'll hide indoors again today. We had a lovely lunch and afternoon with our friends :blue thumb:

Mrs Shiney's off to a show this afternoon and I shall stay here in the cool - except when the two young kids from down the road come to clean our cars. They charge £5 for one car and £7 for two. I started getting my first earnings by cleaning cars when I was eight. :)

Some friends of our have spent the last 23 years working and living in Singapore. They retired and moved back here in the winter and brought their three big furries with them. The furries didn't know what snow was and were a bit nervous at first but got to love it. Although the furries were born out there they really didn't like the heat and are so much happier over here. The vet reckons that being here will add at least two years to their lives!

Just before they were coming back we were at their place in Singapore for a party. This rather dark picture (out on the terrace late at night) is of one of the furries and the temperature was 30C at midnight!!

Keep cool and have a great day

    aloha!

      Aloha Everyone,

Oh WOO what did you do with that shower you should have sent it over the river to me. I would have stood out in that and let it drench me.

Shiney, I couldn't stand 30c at midnight. I too was up at 2.30 this morning having remembered I hadn't applied the drops to my eyes and neither had I put the flea stuff on Amber so. I did my drops but left Amber I will do her later on tonight when it is a bit cooler.

Kandy, you had quiet a busy day on the Lottie yesterday. I would not over do it in this sun though.

Loli, Bet your boys do find it a trifle hot with their thick coats. bless them. I hope you all manage to keep cool. Chloe used to have the bungalow bath full up with water for her to swim in she loved it in the hot summers but Amber doesn't like water, I should have introduced her to it as a puppy, probably too late now. Besides she has the bungalow bath full of sand for her digging and finding the truffle ball and her other golf ball and she knows the difference between the two when Steve tells her to find the truffle ball out comes the black golf ball so she knows what she is doing.

Have a good day all and try and keep cool, stay out of the hottest part of the day. God bless.

      Aloha!:wub2:

          Hi, y'all,

Been a busy day-back from the boot sale at 2p.m, had fish and chips, managed an hours shut-eye,then my son turned up with my grandson Sam, what a joy, playing games with him. Bit sad though, I shall only have 6 weeks to have some quality time-his mother,my sons exis taking him and her other children to live in sheffield,as she no longer wants to live at her mothers.

Its a 6 hour round trip from where we live, so we shall have to make arrangements to have down with us in the school holidays.

Just watered the garden, showered, had buttered toast and a wedge of Cheddar, now eating a lemon mousse pud which I put in the freezer. Wonderful, going to have a relaxing evening, got a lot of work I need to catch up with tomorrow.

Hope you have all had a good day.:hapydancsmil:

Nothing fancy for us today. I had a mango and some porridge for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and we shall have the rest of the Thai curry for our dinner tonight.

After the kids had cleaned our cars (gave them £10 as they worked so hard in the hot sun - and I didn't ask their parents first) I got a lot of work done in the lovely cool of my office.

          Have a good evening

                Aloha everyone,

Happy anniverary Woo and Mrs Woo :ccheers:. How many years?

We're not far off our 'Golden'! I always used to think that people who reached their golden were very old - but we're still quite young :heehee:

I've got a lot of phone calls to get through this morning as we're swapping Direct Debits between bank accounts. This will mean going through loads of 'security' questions . Also, our annual holiday insurance (free with our bank account) is made more complicated because we have to go through the whole rigmarole of getting our 'pre-existing medical conditions' registered.

Nothing has changed but they will start off by refusing to cover us for them (as they always do) and I will start arguing with them and using the 'small print' in their T's & C's to prove that we qualify to be covered. As their phone number for this dept is an 0844 number it costs 10p a minute. So I shall phone their 0800 free 'Sales Dept' number and ask to be transferred :snork:

The sun is shining brightly so it will be another scorcher today.

Kandy, don't overdo things in the sun :nonofinger:

Keep well and have a great day

                Aloha!

Hi Loli and Kandy, your posts came in whilst I was typing (went off to make a cuppa half way through my typing).

The outside temp here is 61F (16C) and the inside temp is 18C :)

There were three of those dogs that they brought back to England and they're loving it here. They go running across the fields (even the old one) which was not possible over there. No fields and too hot even if there were.

Kandy, that was a mistake wearing my shorts! I ended up with 22 mozzie bites on my legs!! :cry3: I didn't realise we would be eating outside and thought we would be inside in the aircon - like most sensible people. As you can see, the dog was begging for food as the person he was looking at was the only one who was still eating :)
