      Hi,

Like our climate I've been bad most of my life. Born with severe asthma which I grew out of at the age of 11 having lost a lot of schooling through it. Lots of in and out of hospital diagnosed gastroenteritis; into hospital starve me for two days then feed me and let me out; 1980 diagnosed with Crohn's disease 1982 major surgery for Crohn's; mass removed and also my appendix just to save a bit of time; still ill lots of the time cause unknown with lots of skin problems; I did my best to avoid doctors and hospitals buying all manner of treatments but in 2004 I was in a bad way. I visited the surgery for the first time in 12 years and was prescribed ointment and Dermol moisturiser. The ointment took time but over a period of six months the nasty rash finally gave way; I now use Dermol daily on my legs and this lasts about a week before I apply more ointment but sparingly which knocks back the rash.

For the first 57 years of my life I was seriously ill until one night in bed Bron read out a short story from one of her girlie magazines regarding food intolerance related mostly to dairy products; the following morning we visited a bookshop in Meadowhall Shopping Centre and bought a book about food intolerances; two days later after dumping everything dairy and switching to Soya I was 80% cured; I still suffer flare ups but the prescribed ointment is excellent at knocking the rash back with Dermol Cream allowing me to say stuff this ill health I've suffered it long enough; I'm now healthier than when I was at school all thanks to my wonderful wife Bron. The years I've been in and out of hospital and even major surgery just because of dairy intolerance; not one doctor or specialist ever mentioned food; at one point I visited Leeds Infirmary three times in one week where I had over 50 test patches stuck to me; the result was mild reaction to Formaldehyde?

The last bad problem was to be admitted to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as an emergency after I doubled up in absolute agony crying like a child; the ambulance crew were marvelous here about an hour giving me pain killing medication until they could move me; three days spent in hospital undergoing lots of tests and x rays only to be discharged cause unknown. I broke a rib a few months back learning metal spinning so now I know how to avoid this; I've suffered a broken rib years ago so didn't bother with A&E although in 1970 I suffered leg fractures after a road accident.

I'm still here battling on and enjoying being married to my lovely Bron and now fully retired being able to graft doing what I want to do rather than what I have to do. All during my illnesses I've worked full time with minimum time off being idle laid in hospital.

I understand illness and pain; so good luck to everyone who is suffering you've got my full sympathy.

Now at 72 I'm an official coffin dodger but I intend to live a lot longer just to get back some of the money I've paid into the system after a lifetime of hard work and stress; I'll always be happy whilst Bron is by my side.

Now what's this thread about? :)

      Kind regards, Colin.

If I'm going to have a rash why not make it a good one; this is just part of it; I could live with it until the skin started cracking at the back of my knees giving lots of pain hence the visit to my GP the first time in twelve years. I still avoid doctors like the plague; life's for living not feeling ill.

                Aloha everyone,

I'm just waiting for the crowds to descend upon us. Twenty people for dinner :hate-shocked:. I've had to provide for them being either indoors or out. Indoors is dry and warm with no wind :heehee:. Outdoors is sunny but windy. So I've put up the large pergola but had to put two sides on it, because of the wind, and have tables and chairs underneath. I also have tables and benches on the patio in the sun and wind. So they have a choice. If they're indoors they will have to have their plates on their laps as there's no room for twenty people and tables and chairs :noidea:.

Keep well and have a great day

                Aloha!

Have fun....you obviously love doing it, I personally could think of nothing worse!!:yikes:

We use to feed large numbers back in the past but now 15 is around our limit. Family aren't so bad, but if it's friends then I now find it too stressful as I think I strive too much for perfection :heehee:. With friends I like 6. Life is too short for a week of stressful worrying, planning, shopping, prepping , cooking and don't start on the housework!! I would die a slow agonising death of I spied a cobweb whilst entertaining:nonofinger: I don't think I was quite so bad in days long gone but now..... !!
Enjoy you day though @shiney ;)
