Morning everyone, thanks @moyra ...still chugging along.
Sorry to hear about your ulcer @Flumpy ...painful little blighters aren't they.:yikes:

Things have become slightly more complicated here as our neighbours came round yesterday and told hubs they were going on holiday that day. As my sister is getting more mobile now, I have decided to go back home about 10pm to be with hubs overnight
and then back to my sister's for 8:30am to get her breakfast etc, and stay the day.
We live in a very secluded area with only one set of nearby neighbours, it's very dark as we don't have lights along the lane either. I ( and to be honest probably hubs too) was a bit concerned with hubs having to be on 'house watch' and that he wouldn't have nearby back up or indeed if his heart began to cause him problems if he became anxious. So this is now my new plan!
My sister and I are also popping over to see our Dad, as we haven't seen or heard from him since our upset last Friday. Have to get our disabled brother to take us as his car is easier for my sister to get into with her crutches. Think we are in for a 'fun' afternoon!!

    Have a good day x

Hi Upsydaisy, I do hope your dad is ok with you, I know how it feels, my dad could fall out with you and let it fester for a few weeks, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you, and also happy to hear your sister is getting better :dbgrtmb:

        Good afternoon folks :)

Been a bit of a battle but finally got a placement for my brother locally. Why do the powers that be struggle to do the obvious, fair and sensible thing? Luckily I am dogged and determined so wasn’t overwhelmed like so many are. :noidea:

Hope to get lawns cut again later......looks like an unsettled spell on its way:sad:

Cornwall is packed......full to brimming. 6 weeks of this to come. Best to come in the off season cos right now it is difficult to drive anywhere locally !!

            Morning @moyra and all.

You are psychic!!! My Dad has
literally just this moment phoned me!! Denying everything he said a fortnight ago....and asking if I still planned to do his garden!!!!

I told him it's up to him to decide as I don't have any spare moments for my own garden let alone his. I said that only he can decide if he has the patience to put up with things and wait until I have a free space.. I reminded him that my sister is due another operation around Oct/Nov....and as his garden is surrounded by trees, there will be a leaf fall issue. He said he 'loved my gardening' and that he was quite prepared to wait!!( Joke of the century!!! ...he's prepared to wait for today!!!)
Ended our phone call completely baffled and non the wiser.
Went to see him yesterday, he didn't really speak to me ,just ended up upsetting my brother instead!!
Victor Meldrew ( if that's his name) must have been based on him!!:roflol:

Must go , my sister is waiting for her breakfast and her grocery shop due too.

:dbgrtmb: Good news @Verdun ,agree ..we had to be tough too when sorting out care plans for my brother.....and still have to be so now when dealing with officals!

            Have a great day.

              Aloha everyone,

Loads of family coming today. Very busy. Most of the cooking done (three meals) and everything set out in the garden for seating three dozen people under cover. Sarafi is complaining he's not getting enough attention. @Upsydaisy maybe I'll send him round to your dad.

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

                      Aloha everyone,

I thought only old people were allowed to go to vintage weekends. :old: Aren't they run by SAGA? :heehee: (I think that stands for Sex And Games for the Aged :lunapic 130165696578242 5:)

It's now raining lightly here but I've been out there since 6 a.m. clearing up. Twenty eight chairs, two benches and a load of tables all moved and stacked in the dry. 5m x 3m gazebo taken down and stored (difficult job on my own :phew:) and a number of other things stored away (I'm sure there were more things than I originally put out ). Left over food now cooled in the fridge and I'll pack as ready meals to be frozen for the future. The birds are enjoying themselves with what I've thrown out for them.

There are still floors to wash, toilets to clean etc. but my back has had enough.

Rain is getting heavier. @moyra I hope you and Amber got your walk in before the rain.

@Upsydaisy I hope your dad has seen the error of his ways. :)

Keep well and have a great day

                      Aloha!

                            Aloha @moyra and everyone,

It's another sunny day but I'm taking things easy - sort of!

I've picked some produce for sale at the bridge club this afternoon and I might just have a go at trimming the edges of the lawns. It depends on whether I can work the shears without using my thumb. A combination of having done too much work and our old enemy Arthur Ritis make it too painful to move my thumb.

Keep well and have a great day
