    Aloha everyone,

I had to take down the bird feeders at 2 a.m. otherwise they would have been blown over. I'll sort them out this morning so that the centre of gravity is low enough for them to withstand the wind. :blue thumb:

I have a busy day today despite having trouble with all this wind :heehee:.

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

      Hello,

Happy New Year! I'm a few days late , I hope you all had a fun night New Year's Eve? We stayed in this year Kev has the man flu which is doing its rounds, he's really poorly.

It's so windy here, I could hear the roof tiles wrattling in the night, thankfully we don't have any damage. :phew:

I don't have any wild birds on the feeders this morning, I guess it's too windy . The hens are free ranging but finding it hard to walk in a straight line! The Bantums are snuggled up in the flowerbeds.

I hope you are all safe, please be careful if you are out & about today.

      Have a good day :grphg:

Gooooooood day to you, fellow WW'ers :spinning:

This year has got off to a mixed start with one bit of "Yay!" :yahoo: news followed by one bit of "Oh, blast it!" news :shakehead: Such is life! However, my optimist gene is still winning so the family had better get ready for some "onwards and upwards" banter ... or else! :slaphead:

Work yesterday was pretty busy (well, it always is, but particularly yesterday) but, despite that, it was one of the first of my late shifts where I got away only 15 minutes late - it's usually nearer an hour! Good job because I have found that all this seasonal celebrating has left me feeling a bit washed out. An early night seemed a great idea, until I was woken by the strong winds. I wouldn't let them defeat me - oh no :nonofinger: - I turned over, pulled the blankets up higher and, with a determined effort, went back to sleep :heehee:

@Beckie76 - wishing Kev a speedy recovery; not nice when we see our loved ones poorly :grphg:

@moyra - hoping you are feeling much better and as pain free as you can be :grphg:

@CanadianLori - hope you haven't got buried under a snow drift and you are safe and well?

@shiney - perhaps you could take something for that wind of yours ... it is so powerful we're feeling it here in Kent!!! :thud: (Maybe take a break from the chillies for a couple of days? :heehee: )

Miles of smiles for all xxMxx

              Good morning,

Oh dear, the weather :thud: Dull, gloomy, wet, miserable, damp, please bring me spring :hapydancsmil: or at least some cold bright frosty days where you get so much done :hapfeet:.

Kev is still poorly, he's off work again today:sad: let's hope I don't get it, he's almost lost his voice :th scifD36:, I couldn't cope with that! :heehee:
Thanks for the get well message @"M".

My garden feeders are full of birds again today, the wind has eased here thank goodness. :blue thumb: My mistle thrush has also returned, she's pulling worms out of the lawn faster than the hens!

Best I get a wriggle on, stay in the warm if you can & enjoy your day everyone :) :grphg:

                  Aloha everyone,

The wind has dropped, the rain has stopped and the sun is trying its best. :)

Just got back from the hospital where Mrs Shiney was having an ear check-up at ENT. Both ears are still there .

Going to the posh pub for lunch.

                        Aloha everyone,

It's very frosty out there but the sun is trying to get here.

I wish all our poorly members a speedy recovery - @moyra and @wiseowl :grphg:

A lot of our friends are down with coughs, colds, flu and one has pneumonia . It makes us quite nervous when we see people coughing and spluttering.

I have a lot of paperwork to do, keeps me out of the cold, and friends coming for dinner tonight - it was an impromptu invitation yesterday (we do that sort of thing :heehee:). I'm doing a very easy meal with a starter of avocado with smoked salmon with a little salad garnish and home made dressing. Main course is roast chicken, crispy roast spuds, root veg mash and stir fry of runner beans, carrots, courgettes and mushrooms. Dessert is home made, sugar free, gluten free, dairy free apple crumble done with ground almonds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds plus a fruit salad of mango and melon.

Keep well and have a great day

                        Aloha!

                            Goooooooood morning fellow WW'ers :spinning:

Healing vibes for all our poorly people :grphg:

Well, despite the weather, work was very busy this week. I think after all the celebrating of recent events, coupled with how busy work has been, it was the reason I slept for 12 hours last night  Not something I generally do.

One highlight of the week was the delivery of a special gift for Ozzy. I was refunded an online order and used the money to buy him one of these machines ...
[IMG] ... it is what they use at his Hydrotherapy place and it really gets down into places brushing simply doesn't get! His coat soon builds up with dander/dust and goodness knows what else. Well, arrived home on Thursday to see it was delivered. I set it up, put the extension lead on the patio, turned up the setting and "Boom!" we were off!!! It was quite windy anyway and the moment that nozzle went near his fur there was dander flying here, there and everywhere. He was so excited, he ran round the garden, ran back to me, pointed his body at the blaster then back off for another victory lap around the garden. It was hilarious! The end result was ... well, suffice to say it looked like it had snowed in my garden :heehee: Lots of pickings there for nesting material  He'll get another blast this afternoon, but I shall do that one in the bathroom (now that the worst is off).

 any food in it? :dunno: :heehee:

Youngest son started a new job yesterday and is back there today. It is a "filler" job; something to be getting on with until the next intake in the other job he's waiting on - which could be as late as April  . Yesterday and today are training days and just next door but one to where I work! I was sooooo tempted to wander by yesterday, but thought better of it. ;) He'll be at that location until training is complete, so it might work out that I can give him lifts to work and back. For now though, there is a car pool laid on by the trainers and he's taking advantage of that. Good job really as I don't work Saturday :heehee:

Today I need to take all the decorations down - yes, it is a day late, but I had no energy by the time I got home yesterday and I'm really not superstitious enough to worry about being a day or so late.

Also need to go back through my seed box as I'm sure there is something I should be putting in around now. I've been waiting to try out the heated propagator I bought last Autumn in a sale and I'm fairly sure there is something I ought to be putting in there too

Miles of smiles for one and all xxMxx
