@shiney If you have any old towels in future wrap them around it and put a bowel there just to wring them out :blue thumb:...Oh yes best behaviour

Can I give you a hint of a much easier way to defrost your freezer?

        You will need:

        Ordinary table salt
        Water
Garden sprayer (preferably the pump handle pressure type)
        Bissell/Vax type cleaner

Empty the freezer, then make up a salt water solution (warmish) in the garden sprayer making sure all the salt dissolves, then get spraying at the ice in the freezer. Use the hose from the carpet cleaner to suck up the water, and repeat until the ice has gone (you will be surprised just how quick this happens!); once all the ice is gone, rinse out the sprayer with clean water then give the freezer a good rinse spray also with clean water to make sure no salt residue is left (corrosion risk); finally, dry the freezer cavity, switch the freezer back on and refill as appropriate.

@Gail_68 We did put cloths around the evaporation tank to soak up the water. :blue thumb:

@Fat Controller Thanks but it's an upright freezer and doesn't freeze up inside. It freezes inside all the pipes and coils and takes a long time to defrost. These pipes are about a quarter of an inch diameter and no access to inside the pipes. Also we mustn't apply any direct heat to them.

All drained and up and running again. :dbgrtmb:

@Fat Controller It's good advice but aren't you supposed to let them defreeze naturally, as it keeps them working a lot better

No, makes absolutely no difference to the workings of the freezer. You are supposed to defrost them regularly, as the layer of ice makes them less and less efficient, and therefore makes the compressor have to work harder to maintain temperature, but the method of defrosting matters not a jot (unless you are dealing with pipes as in @shiney's case)

                        Aloha everyone,

Today is supposed to be the last day for a while where it will be mild and dry so I want to try and do some work in the garden this morning.

This afternoon we shall be visiting a friend who is in a residential home. She's not doing too well physically and mentally but I understand she is doing better since she went in there. She had moved away to a new flat to be near her children but eventually was unable to cope well enough on her own. We haven't seen her since the move to the home but her daughter has said to expect her to have changed. From the way I have noticed others in her situation they tend to be quite with it when amongst friends as those are the memories embedded deep in the mind.

There are four of us going and afterwards the others are coming back to us for dinner. :blue thumb:

Keep well and have a great day

                        Aloha!

                              Good morning fellow WW'ers

The weather isn't pretty this morning so I'm delaying Ozzy's walk for a little bit; not that I'm optimistic that the rain will die back but I'd like it to ease, just a bit.

Healing vibes for all of those in need of them and positive vibes for all!
