Morning all, hope your all wrapped up warm and the heating on :).

Upsydaisy glad you’ve got what you wished for, are you getting your sledge out today? :dbgrtmb:

Verdun I believe you’ve got snow now? Or so the newsman said it’s snowing in Cornwall?

Lorri do you have chains on your wheels? I bet you have tons more snow than us :)

Moyra Love your picture hope your keeping well and wrapped up warm too :blue thumb:

              Morning everyone...
Gosh @CanadianLori you're in for a hectic but undoubtedly lovely time with your grandchildren.....have a ton of fun!

@moyra keep well layered up. Can you concentrate on heating up your main room a bit more perhaps? And having a fleece throw is handy to put over your lap when sitting down.Take care .

@Flumpy , in my head I could and would :blue thumb: but sadly my body says....No!!!:nonofinger: But looking at the snowy slopes opposite the house it is very tempting..but I must resist the urge:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

:congrats: @shiney ,have a great time at the quiz!!

We have an expected low of -8 tonight but that's a heatwave compared to my cousin's temps in Calgary.....you all have my undying admiration and are true :star: for your endurance!!:love30:

Keep warm and above all keep safe everyone:dbgrtmb:

Upsydaisy I remember going sledging with my brother every year, our dad made us a sledge at work, made from stainless steel and a wooden seat, it was so light but fast, he still has it in his shed, happy memories hey :).

Moyra I feel for you, we have high ceiling in our house and takes a long time to warm up especially when we’ve been at work all day, but we have two fleece blankets to warm us up too, plenty hot drinks Moyra and all.

Shiney good luck at the quiz:dbgrtmb:

                    Howdy folks :)
Yes Flumpy, some snow this morning...surprised to see it. Actually a mixture of snow, sleet and rain but now its all gone. Sun now but its cold
I was hoping to get more compost for mulching today but will defer that for a bit

Hi @Flumpy , yes I was wondering that too he doesn't seem to be popping in as much as he use too...really hope all is OK with him and his family. We miss you @wiseowl !!

Memories are the real treasures of life aren't they..just like looking through the old photo albums that my Mum put together throughout all of her life...bless her.:)

Our house requires a lot of heating, but I must admit that since all our family fledged about 16 yrs ago we only heat what is used. All unused rooms are ventilated and thankfully we don't suffer from any dampness. We have 6 bedrooms and I absolutely see no point heating them when all we use is one! :nonofinger: No way!!

Morning @Verdun just caught you before I posted, still nippy here too just hit 2C now. I can't do anything out there as we still have a covering of lovely snow.
I have just watched on IPlayer a year in Carol Klein's Glebe Cottage gardens...that was my gardening fix for today but it's made me want to get out there even more, she's so inspiring!:)

                          Good day everyone
It is cloudy and we are looking at a day that is going up to near freezing. I plan to shovel off the bbq and grill some burgers later. The granddaughters love burgers. They're still asleep so I am watching this week's last two episodes of Corrie online, whilst the clothes washer is doing the first load. We're going to be baking cupcakes this morning after they've had their pancake and maple syrup breakfast.

No @Flumpy I switch rims and tires every spring and fall, the over winter sets have snow tyres mounted on them. It does add up money wise because there are three vehicles to do but it is safe.My Mustang is a rear wheel drive and for many years I managed without snow tyres but one year I nearly got stuck in a snow storm so I stopped that nonsense.

@Upsydaisy I have a cousin in Edmonton, not far from Calgary. She finds it amusing that what we in Ontario consider winter, is more spring like to them. About the same difference in growing zones between myself and her, as between me and you! :)

Take care all and play safe!

                            Aloha everyone,

Wiseowl is OK but his internet has been out for a few days and he's not yet sure when they can get it fixed. They shan't even be going to look at it until at least Monday!

All the hard work that I and my team of helpers put in to make the quiz run smoothly paid off. :dbgrtmb: Two of us write the quiz, seven of us set the hall, do the catering etc. and three of us run the two computers and two screens. Although we have a good P.A. system set up we also have two projectors and screens. As some of the quizzers are hard of hearing, or very hard of hearing, we not only read out the questions but display them on screen at the same time. This allows more people to take part :). We had 88 people forming 11 teams. Mrs Shiney's team came first but only beat the second team by just under 2%.

We now have a sunny morning and it looks like it will be a glorious day.

Keep well and have a great day
