Seriously it is a complete and utter waste of time and paper, I can't see all the foreign people in the Country dutifully filling out the form in the appropriate language!!!!!!!!!! What a farce!!!!!!!!! :loll:

And that's why the government will tell us that fears about sheer numbers of immigrants are unfounded.

I'm struggling with #17 "This question is intentionally left blank -> go to 18"

:what:

I'm writing "For the 2012 census, please omit this question, that will save a small forest"

I suspect it's because that the next question wouldn't fit in there so they had to leave a blank space to balance the formatting. Don't know, it's just a guess. Anyone who's ever produced a newsletter of any type would understand that.

As for my census, I did mine on line - just wish they had asked people before sending out the form.
That would have saved a LARGE forest!

But on-line is so much better, they miss out all the irrelevant questions so you just zip through it.
However, on the question about educational qualifications, I was a bit miffed I couldn't boast about my English Language O level GCE! And when it came to the professional qualifications, I was dead chuffed to see that doctors and nurses were grouped together in one question - PARITY AT LAST!!

I understand that it is used on the Welsh forms and asks whether they speak Welsh

Maybe the question is written in invisible ink that only appears as the form crosses the border into Wales.

Daisees, the first qualification box was for 1 - 4 O levels :thumb:.

Every member of GC should be able to tick the 'Apprenticeship' box as an apprenticeship in gardening is surely applicable to anyone asking or answering questions on here. :dbgrtmb:

Anne has just asked me to throw this question into the mix. "What happens if someone goes on Holiday at midnight on the 26th, so we are not here on the 27th to fill the form" she wants to know if she would cease to exist?

Steve...:)

Steve, good question but the form only really wants to know if you have anyone (apart from the possibility of yourselves) staying at your home. :D

Gemini, assuming that the form can actually get to them :heehee: I suppose their caravan is their home.

As I understand it you have to fill this form in or get fined.

So does it matter if you actually make any sense, as I was thinking of doing it on line and copy and pasting any old gibberish
I could find on the web.

I mean, does anyone actually read it?
Or is it just put through some kind of computer that stores it and tries to make sense of it.

Hi pete,

When you sign the form you are signing that it is 'to the best of my knowledge and belief'. I suppose it depends how much you know and what you believe. :loll:
