Don't be sorry ,we all fully respect each other's views @CanadianLori .

I hold my hands up and openly own up to making a huge mistake.
I posted without thinking after receiving an email relating to Christmas....I just meant to say that don't they start plugging sales early, hand on heart that was all.
I can ensure you that I am / we are sensitive too and I am very upset over the whole incident.
Please may I ask admin to step in and delete my hurtful thread.
            Thank you.

Likewise. I love this forum and the members. Perhaps I've mentioned this before. Even without any intent or forethought, it can become so easy to offend another. Whereas, when chatting etc in person, face to face, we are able to see by the facial expressions of others if what we have just said has gone down well. Me! I'm a very sensative person. Not just regarding comments toward me but also my comments to others.
Concerning myself perhaps it might be thought, having been a police officer and taken many forms of abuse etc, that I'd be used to it. On the other hand. I have always found myself apologising even if no offense has been taken. I now try to let some things go over my head. Please friends continue to enjoy this forum and the company of lots of very nice folk.

                  Hello Mike :)

Yes you are right. Good post :)

Face to face I find most folks agreeable if not I can quickly rectify a mistake or call on someone I may have inadvertently offended and sort the issue with a firm handshake, most times. Or at least reach an understanding. As you said Mike, we can see expressions on faces and note behaviours if we have said the wrong thing.

Not so easy on a forum is it? We are addressing several individuals with every one having an opinion on what was meant, etc. I will try to attend the next Shineyland gathering for this very reason, viz., to get to know some of the folks here.

Texts are prob the worst for this....they can convey the wrong meaning entirely.

However, on a garden forum we are talking essentially about horticultural problems and experiences and not about personalities. Besides, we all share an enjoyment of the garden:)

I echo your final comment Mike :)

                  .

@Upsydaisy and @CanadianLori A tricky one I know but I don’t think there is any disrespect meant by this post and I am sure that Gogs our sadly departed member will have a smile about it too.. ;) She had a good sense of humour..

It is just how forums roll I think.. We have mulled this over in the office and feel it is fine to have this thread too along with the other with no disrespect to anyone.. :spinning:

But this side of the pond it is. We get it all out of our system at Thanksgiving. then Christmas tends to be quieter. Where as you all have to wait to Christmas. then there is New Years day. So we have three major meal things here. Gets so January looks so good. However, this year thought it would be nice to book a river cruise in December to see how Europe does Christmas. Hear there are some neat towns to look at/ explore.
