When you knock on a strangers door and ask them the name of the Rose in their garden, you don't get many rose names but you make lots of new friends;)

                75) When you're away on holiday and you keep looking at the weather forecast for back home, hoping the house sitter is not over watering/under watering your plants.....
......and keeping on top of the courgettes
                ......and the tomatoes
......and what about that tray of seedlings in the greenhouse?

                76) When the first thing you do on arriving home from said holiday is say "sod the unpacking, that can wait" and wander off down the garden with a cuppa, ostensibly to 'stretch my legs a bit' after the long drive, but really to see how everything has fared in your absence.

Me too, I'm only truly relaxed on holiday if the forecast says it's raining at home.

And us, but we still worry that they're not watering the greenhouse properly. We have a rota of people for watering. That takes the pressure off each one and it makes it more likely that at least some of them would do the watering properly.

                    Definitely :blue thumb:

We recently went down to Somerset for a week and asked our neighbours if they could water our Xmas and Silver Birch tree that we have in large pots if the weather was dryish and to make sure our Acer was given lots of water as we had put it out in the ground the other year so wanted to make sure it was ok.Anyway got back home only to find that nothing had been watered because as my neighbour said there were a couple of storms while were away that watered the stuff.:yikes:Problem was one of the pots had blown over because the top was heavier than the bottom as it hadn't been watered so the tree wasn't getting any water at all as the pot was on its side.

The best of it is we brought them a Thank you prezzie and then watered their garden, pots, hanging baskets(Mr Kandies job as I can't reach)and also turned the oscillator on and off to water the new turf that their gardener had replaced for the forth time due to the neighbours two dogs weeing all over the grass and sending it brown and then digging big holes in other parts of the lawn and all this was for over 16 days while they holidayed in the sun.

I sometimes think I have mug stamped across my forehead :snork:

                        77. You go out to hang washing on the line and need to shower again before work, because you just resist ignore tidying the beds by the line!
                        78. You find garden ties in your dressing gown pocket!
