Gave the car a good clean today as well. 10 minutes after starting, looked around and all the neighbours were out cleaning their cars. It just takes one to start the ball rolling...

I can remember a long time ago when Sunday was car washing day, you dont see it now like you did back then.
It was also amateur car mechanic day, take the engine to pieces and then wonder why it wont start for work on Monday morning.

When my Dad passed my Mum gave me his car, so I ended up with two. it was great. I could work on one and drive the other. Now I get my son-in-law to maintain my car for me. He is a mechanic with 40 years of experience.

I decided this week to blitz the house from top to bottom and get rid of the Winter cobwebs. Did most of upstairs yesterday ( curtains will be washed and line dried when the weather bucks up), and today has been the turn of our little snug lounge and the most dreaded room ..the kichen!:yikes:

Making good use of this grotty week of weather, then hopefully I can spend my days outside feeling smug and guilt-free knowing that the house hasn't been forgotten.:heehee::SUNsmile:

I've also spent the last couple of days spring cleaning! All the curtains & the net curtains washed & hung back up. All the windows washed on the inside & outside except for the balcony - I'll get round to those ... before summer, I hope! Only the 2 bedroom windows to clean on the inside & those I'll do tomorrow.

May do the carpets tomorrow if my son brings me the carpet cleaner round!

I spent an hour cleaning the kitchen windows this morning, but that included taking all the plants out of the window & putting them back later! These windows are enormous anyway - 3m (10ft) long & at least 1.5m (4ft) high!

I used a tool (can't remember what it's called) like the window cleaners use to remove water from the glass without needing to rinse or use another cloth to dry them. Works really well & I finshed the windows in a quarter of the time it used to take me & with at least 10 x less effort! (My shoulder thanked me for that!)

The washing machine was playing up, wouldn't switch on so had someone to look at it. It was the electrical bit on the door opening, he replaced it and it's fine now.

On the 27th of this month hubby has his hip replacement on the right. He did have June the 22nd from the NHS but decided to go private. He's slowly getting worse and he felt that he didn't want to wait that long and he will be able to enjoy the summer.

Yes, it will be good to get it over with sooner. What does it cost privately there Logan?

Tended to all the seedlings in the greenhouse earlier before the winds reached their peak.
After last years storm damage to it I don't go in there during extreme winds anymore.

My day really ,so far, has been spent cleaning the 10 internal glass doors downstairs.

In my ' make believe world' I've just got back from having a scrumptious lunch with Vicky in Portugal.

Day dreaming helps to make Spring cleaning a more pleasant task.:heehee:

Got full fibre broadband installed today. The old copper broadband I had went up in price and they offered me full fibre for £1 a month more. A no-brainer. It took the engineer an hour to do the installation and when he left my broadband was ten times the previous best speed.
The other half's iPhone now clocks 400Mb/s though my six-year-old computer is only good for 90Mb/s. My old Vodafone V10 can still only manage 3.

I've done the 2 bedroom windows (inside) & now only have the 4 on the balcony to do (outside)! I had a bit of luck as well as I discovered an Amaryllis with a very advanced scape in the 2nd bedroom windowsill! You might think they are difficult NOT to see but it was one plant between at least 10 others! So now I have another Amaryllis to look forward to in about another week's time! :dbgrtmb::)
Now I need only do the carpets & the spring cleaning will have concluded!

Well done @Balc , thankfully ;) the weather is too horrendous to think about window cleaning and in Summer...well it's just too hot!!:heehee::whistle:
No honestly I do clean the downstairs ones..but together we have 21 windows ,2 patio doors and an all glass lobby. So not a task I look forward too. Hubs tends to set up the scaffolding to clean the upstairs ones......occasionally!!:roflol:
