Your Day (apart from gardening) - what took place? 2023

We were going out somewhere today but as the weather is on the 'iffy' side decided not too.

Our gorgeous great nephew WhatsApp'ed me to say he 'needed' to see us ( he has a day off school) because he has saved some of his birthday cake for us...... another cake day!! So we're off!!!

 

I needed something from Hobbycraft, and the nearest store to here is in one of the sprawling suburbs of Swansea, several miles away, so I went on the bus. It took the best part of an hour.
Got what I needed from Hobbycraft, had a coffee in Costa, and caught a bus home.

Along the way, I thought the scenery looked a bit unfamiliar, and then I saw a signpost pointing to a place not on my rout home - I was on the wrong bus wasn't I ... and going towards Carmarthen

I got out eventually, when I could, caught a bus back to the sprawling Swansea suburb, where Hobbycraft is, and then waited for a bus back home.
It was my own fault, I don't concentrate, but I had an extra ride, and saw a nice view of the sea. Saw it again on the way back, and it didn't cost a penny

 

If its any consolation I'd probably end up doing the same thing, I dont understand public transport these days.
The buses seem to have numbers, but how the hell do you know where that number is going and by what route.

 

I often go on a bus and around here they are clearly numbered, and the places where they're going are displayed plainly on the front of the bus. I just didn't look, I got on the first bus that stopped - like I said, I don't concentrate

 

Take my advice, avoid railway stations and airports.

 

That's the beauty of having a bus pass Michael, it doesn't matter if you get on the wrong bus or even just go pass the stop you require.....just sit and enjoy the scenery.

 

Planning our two trips. laying out the routes. etc.

 

A friend and I are off to the cinema today.

Oh we will thanks @Logan, each time we go we sit through all the ' coming soon ' trailers and note what we are going to see for the following month.
We always try to see at least 2 a month.

 

Really loved the film.....a bit of a tear jerker.

I hadn't realised that Linda Bassett was also in it (Phyllis in Call The Midwife).

We have also agree on our next 2 sessions too.
