    Oh dear...

Phillip Schofield says he has agreed to step down from ITV’s This Morning “with immediate effect”.

    Enjoyed another cinema visit today.

Very funny in places and took us both back to
those awkward years of early puberty.

Also thought provoking on the pressures that can be placed on children in mixed faith families.

Our family is such a one but it was make clear at the onset of hubs and I marrying to all close relatives that any children we had would be completely left to reach their own decisions on which if any faith they wished to follow.

Thanks, sorry I've been a bit busy with everything going on.
The hip replacement surgery went well. He went in on the Thursday had it done late afternoon and out on Saturday. They gave him 28 needles with a anti coagulant to use every night, surgical stockings up to the knee which are difficult to get on and off. A lot of bruising and swelling of the leg and painful at times, given times to take paracetamol and ibuprofen, at night both together. A week after he was having trouble with the wound, had a lump form there and looked infected. Had it opened up and cleaned out and had stitches that were disigned to let stuff out, the lump was a heamatoma Given antibiotics and stopped using the anticoagulant, said that they sometimes can cause problems but have to give them. It was going well for a week but at 1.30 in the morning on last Saturday it was leaking, the dressing was soaked and on the bed. He called the hospital ward that he was in, they took all of the details. She said that she would get the head nurse to call back in the morning. She phoned back on Saturday at 9am. He went straight away and was told that it's the body reacting to the surgery and it's healing. That dried up and it's healed up and had the stitches taken out today at his Dr surgery by a nurse. As well as all that his leg is swollen which it would be and painful at times, but hopefully that will start to go down, he can't sleep with it and at the moment he has to lay on his back. Going to physio on Thursday. I can't drive so have to ask neighbours to take us to droitwich hospital and my friend Marion has been taking us to do the food shopping twice a week, she buys a loaf of bread and some milk so we put it on our bill. Hopefully in 6 weeks he can drive again, it all depends on if he can use the pedals well.
In between all that I've had all of the walking the boys and trying to do the garden. Sometimes I do a bit of cleaning but not much, just vaccuming and some washing.

Oh my @Logan your poor hubby has been put through the mill !!

It certainly can become an ordeal if things don't go well sadly. My brother has had 5 hip replacements altogether with only one that didn't go to plan.

Thankfully it looks like all is going well for your hubby and that he is now well on the path to recovery.

It does require a lot of nursing and support from other close relatives to help aid full recovery along and this can become exhausting for both. With my brother living alone it meant we all got our turn at nursing him back to health.
Looking after yourself too is very important during his convalescense, take care both of you.

Thank you @Upsydaisy, he always have to do things differently than anyone else :heehee: but he will get there, he thought that it would be easy like the hernia repair surgery, even though he knew that it would take time. It leaked again this morning at 1.30 but not as bad and it dried up as soon as i put another dressing on it.

That's a shame about your brother, i hope that he's doing well now with his hips. Always think that you would only need it done once. I've spoken to a man that i sometimes see when I'm walking the boys, he had his knees done twice, the first didn't settle in at all. Thankyou i will take care of both of us.

Thanks ,my brother has had serious Rheumatoid Arthritis since he was 16yrs old he had to give up work when he was in his early 30's and is now completely disabled..and to make matters worse he has Alzheimer's too. So sad ,my poor baby brother.

But on a brighter note all is going well for your hubs, there will be leakage on and off in the healing stages.:dbgrtmb:

Thank you @Upsydaisy and yes it's sad when a member of the family is like that.
Hubby realised that both leakages happened after he over did things.

Well not really his fault, last Friday we went to Sainsbury's to do the shopping, they didn't have the milk that we usually have so had to go to Morrisons.

Yesterday we went shopping again and later he had to go to the Dr. to have the stitches out.

Yes i know that the hip replacement only lasts so long.
That's a shame when someone has to have one at a early age.

Someone I worked with many years ago had his first hip replaced when he was in his late twenties, I'm not sure how many he has had up till now but quite a few, I've not seen him in ages but he's still getting around with a walking stick and in his 70s now.

Tuesday hubby had his stitches out, it looked good and healed well. He's still got a swollen leg and the other leg is going the same. Told that it will go down when he starts moving around better and be able to go for longer walks.

I couldnt help laughing. At least she won...

Hundreds of people have taken part in the annual cheese rolling extreme sporting event.

Competitors chased a 7lb (3kg) Double Gloucester cheese wheel down the almost-vertical Coopers Hill in Brockworth, near Gloucester.

The women's race was won by Delaney Irving who was knocked unconscious as she chased the cheese.

Enjoyed a day off from gardening and decided to have a wander around one of our nearby market towns . It is near to where my parents use to live but as always you tend not to explore the history and beauty that's on your own doorstep....you take it all for granted.

My brother lives there now and normally after our visits to him we just dash in to the town to grab some groceries then dash out again...but not today.
Here are a few pics of our day.
