    Enjoyed a great day out in Lymington today. As it was our last day of Summer 23 we thought we ought to go somewhere nice to mark the occasion :heehee:

    We wandered through the large Saturday Market that occupied the entire lenght of the main road and stopped off to browse an Antique Fair.

    We explored the cobbled lanes of the old Quay before sitting by the waters edge to people watch and make a couple of freshly baked pasties disappear! ;)
    We watched the tour boats coming and going, a little dog who seemed to love nothing more than swimming up and down the slipway. What really made my day was watching the children with their nets and buckets scooping up crabs, fish and much more, they shrieked with delight at their ' catches ' :biggrin: 20230916_152903.jpg 20230916_152347.jpg 20230916_142754.jpg 20230916_145040.jpg 20230916_145050.jpg

    Spot the little dog.

    The drive through the New Forest was beautiful ,as always. It was marred by the recent sad news of more deaths of ponies....particularly of a Mother and her foal :sad::cry3:

    Pony killed just days after her foal died in crash on same New Forest road

      Last weekend I was looking online to get some inspiration for a walk I hadn't done before. Then I saw that there was an airshow down in Ayr, had no idea there was going to be one. Over 250k people turned up it seems. Nipped down to take some photos, was completely packed

          Had some Amazon vouchers so bought a birthday present for our most adventurous Degu, Nepa.

          She immediately appreciated a long dark tunnel leading to unknown lands and scuttled back and forth with gusto. We tried nearly vertical positions too, and up she came and then turned around and went down with perhaps slightly less elegant "skid and thump" sound... and then back again :biggrin:

            @Hanglow good pics :blue thumb:

            We inadvertently ended up at an airshow a week ago when we were invited to friends for lunch. We live on the Essex/Hertfordshire border and were going to the Lake District for a week. Our friends live in Southport, Merseyside so quite a bit of a detour :doh:

            What we weren't told was that there was an airshow on. We were only stopping for lunch, with nearly seven hours of driving to do. So didn't have a chance to try and get there for good pictures but managed to grab a few from a distance.

            I haven't the faintest idea what planes they are :noidea:

                Booked our Covid jabs today....had a choice of any day this week but as we have a pretty busy week we decided on late Friday afternoon. We have already booked our Flu and hubs Shingle jabs for a fortnight's time.

                      I finally decided on the pictures I'm going to make for my home made Christmas cards and the 2024 calendars I'm sending my friends. I will draw the outlines in a minute, after I've had a cuppa :biggrin: and then I can paint them ... but that won't be today.
