Thank you @Beaus Mum. I am still having the dressing changed and I am terrified when ever a dog even on a lead comes towards me.

I can understand that @On the Levels. I appreciate that farm dogs are a different thing entirely, but I'm sick to death of irresponsible dog owners around here, and apparently it's a huge, and growing, problem all over the country. I've had dozens of 'encounters' in the last couple of years, and the owners are so thoughtless and inconsiderate it makes my blood boil. I hope you're ok, but it's something you shouldn't have to be dealing with.

There was one the other day when I was out on a small hill. No control over it, no lead, and obviously thought the plentiful signage everywhere on the route- because of sheep/lambs, didn't apply to him- especially when it was several hundred yards away - heading for the sheep...

I'm on a mission to hold Unilever accountable for their promise. :paladin:

The spray mechanism finally failed on my bottle of Cif so I contacted the careline and requested a new one.

        cif.jpg

Apparently they are unable to send me one but offered a £4 refund so that I can buy a new bottle. I pointed out that whilst the offer is very kind and generous, buying a new bottle to replace my "bottle of life" sort of defies the purpose.

Since the bottles were at the time heavily marketed with environmental claims (the refill thing is actually a very good idea and easy to use- and I'm all in for reducing transport loads) it is interesting that the scheme seems to have died in just about five years. Not unexpected though.

I'm planning my next move with the company- tremble!

I must mention though that their customer service is excellent. Very quick responses, my emails were read and understood thoroughly and the replies are well written and polite. :)

I bought a refill of that hand wash soap with a pump container.
I spent ages filling the old bottle from the refill.

It was only a couple of days later the penny dropped.

You just unscrew the pump and screw it on the refill bottle.

For your next trick @pete, you could try refilling the original bottle with a 5 litre bottle of soap refill, without using a funnel or pump dispenser. Lots of fun on a rainy day:)! (In case you’re wondering, no I haven’t tried it myself!)

I've ditched powdered detergents in favour of a locally made, small business liquid version. i've bought the bottle and just take it back to the SM to refill as needed. I've been using liquid hand soaps for nearly 4 decades as I find the bars make my skin dry and itchy but buy squashable plastic tube refills as they're cheaper and easier to find than replacement bottles.

Good luck with your projec @Selleri

I too have a love of castles and historical buildings and try to visit as many as possible on our holidays.

The nearest castle to us was a favourite of Richard Lionheart when he had time for hunting and playing. It is now in ruins after the 100 years war, the wars of religion and that nice Napoleon chappy slaughtering willy nilly in the Vendée where the peasants supported the Church.

There's just enough of it left to host jousting and raptor displays all summer and an Xmas market in December. The Normans were here too, long before William hit England and I suspect a lot of the old castles started with them.

We're inundated with castles around here. They're all in ruins. There's one up the road from me, and another one a bit further up the road.

My day is frustrating :frown: and I can't see it getting any better :frown: ... I had a new thermostat for my central heating yesterday and it's a digital remote controll one, and you can put it wherever you want.
So I've put it somewhere and now I can't find it :scratch: :heehee: and I'm cold and want to turn it up !

Never mind, I'm going to my art group this afternoon

@Michael Hewett Thick socks, an extra jumper and maybe a scarf and then, when you find it, a designated place for the thermostat tho, if you're like OH and car keys and the car key drawer, it may be pointless.

                    Enjoy your art group.

Possum drove me to my physio session this morning and then on to shop for PCs. Who knew it could be so exhausting?

4 techy shops and techy experts later and lots of info and quotes from 3 - the 4th was clueless - for her to digest. Big budget so needs careful consideraton.

Meanwhile I was looking for a simple Blue Ray DVD reader so I can watch the set of Annika DVDs she bought me but which our old reader can't handle. Turns out it's a geolocation problem which she didn't know to check when ordering. Ho hum.

Thence to a fabric shop for thread and curtain tape, the Vietnamese shop for sweet, chilli sauce, rice wine and miso paste and then the SM for veggies.

Utterly shattered now. Gardening is so much easier and so much more rewarding!

I joined an art group in a near-by town a few weeks ago. I go on a Tue afternoon. There's no teacher, you just do what you want and learn from each other.

Anyway they've got another class on a Monday morning where there's an instructor , and they learn how to do portraits.
I've never done anything like that before and thought I'd have a go, so I went along yesterday. I enjoyed it very much and am looking forward to next week now.

In the group the instructor wanted me to draw him :yikes: and he did help me along with positioning of features etc but I did the shading myself.
The end result looked nothing like him ! :heehee: but it was a start .

Well done you @Michael Hewett . Not easy to try a new skill with strangers but a good way to make new friends with a shared interest.

Wet start today but sunny now. I am indoors, nursing a dog with a cough who's gone off his food a bit. He's a Labrador and at 15 is getting on but not hoovering up food means something is wrong. Seeing the vet at 2:30:
