My electric metre is actually inside a bricks and mortar box outside, today when the man came out to read the metre, we were both shocked.

 

Did he get a reading lol?

 

Had renewal quote for building and contents insurance. Up by £450 from last year. Rang them and was told they had had so many claims this year and rebuild costs gone up they had to increase every person. We have made no claims for years. Went on a comparison web site and found a quote for better options for less than we are paying this year.

 

Result!

 

Yes, it was hissterical watching him.

 

Granted we have a very small bungalow here in the Uk and have not done contents for years (nowt worth nicking). But just had a look and John Lewis quoted us £99.03 this year. Okay very different areas perhaps, but that seems a lot of difference.

 

For a long time we've had a funny smell in the gas meter box in the outside wall. It seemed worse this morning and I checked my neighbour's does not smell at all.

So I called the "Can you smell gas?" number and within 20 mins Cadent arrived.

The chap could not find a leak, but said the regulator was not working properly, so he installed one.

So within an hour of calling we had our new part and a thorough check over. Was very impressed.

Just been to do the smell test and it's still there!

 

Big mistake today.
Decided on a run over the Horseshoe pass to Llangollen and a mooch around the shops.
Forgot the Eisteddfod had just started and Tom Jones is headlining today. It was rammed!

Lovely, @burnie, and I didn't get car sick! I liked the deciduous tree "tunnel" best, and going along the side of the River Dee. Not much traffic about. I would meet that many cars just going half a mile here.

 

Very boring but needed doing. Washed the ground floor windows and doors. Such a mess and then gave the garden gate a good clean up. The cats (not ours) leave all their footprints on both sides and again the gate looks awful. Well hopefully it looks better now. Washing windows? Saying goes that rain will come. Actually we do need some.

 

Had a friend round for coffee and cake. Good to catch up. Then a local builder came to see if he could sort out our garage door. He couldn't but at least he came. Now leaving messages for potential repair people.
