Quite right - let them get on with it.

There are people who value advancement in the workplace above everything else. It's quite sad really.

Been on a bit of a "feel sorry for myself" kick recently after a bad fall. I'm on crutches for a damaged knee ligament so been a bit moapy cause I can't get into the garden and get started, but today I somehow gave myself a metaphorical kick in the arse (couldn't do it for real eh?).

I can't get out there but I CAN get organised. Got lots of little paper pots to make, I can sit at the table and do these!

Stop being a moany minnie Eli, get active :)

So today, I "stole" loads of copies of the metro from the train station to make pots :)

As long as the thief doesn't get rewarded monetarily beyond the rest of the team, it doesn't matter, otherwise....

Hello Friday. Right now, just coffee. But my "work" list of tasks is in my appointment book. So after a brief time in the gym. Shower, breakfast will meet up with some staff to discuss things. Check records etc. Just found out when the government inspectors are due --finally---they are two months behind, so March 8 and 9 they are arriving. Fun. tonight looking forward to dinner at a new place for us and an off Broadway musical with one of our friends being a singer in it, he has a beautiful voice. He sings a lot from huge church choirs for weddings and funerals. will have to drink more coffee later in the day. as this starts at 8PM. Workmen also here today to work on the basement, we are finishing it up, walls, etc. large screen TV, billard table etc. sofas, etc.etc.

Hooked up with a walking buddy this morning, haven't been out together for a few weeks and it was wonderful to see our two dogs enjoying themselves together. As per usual, we put the world to rights and I confided in her what had been going on in my own world the past week or so.
Needed to pop to the shop after the walk and when I got home from there I had a text from my walking buddy: "Check your post box" ...

                  ... there I found a bunch of flowers!! :wub2:

It's the sort of thing I do for other people yet here she was doing it for me. I was really touched. That gesture of thoughtfulness and kindness has really boosted my day.

I've been into hospital to have carpal tunnel surgery on my hand today, so I'm typing this (slowly) with one hand at the moment. I'd just got back from the operating theatre when the fire alarm went off. :yikes: Turned out to be a false alarm though, so I still had time to enjoy my tea and biscuits before Mrs Trunky arrived to collect me. :)

I'm going to have to get used to doing everything with one hand for a few days now (stop sniggering at the back please).

Plan to have the sheets and towels washed and hanging to dry before starting to move plants out to the greenhouse. :)

Think I'll make some beer bread buns so we can have chicken burgers later. The fellows at the beer store get a chuckle out of me. They see me coming in quite often to buy Stella Artois which they know is for when one of my sons walks over for a visit and now a variety of beer such as brown ales, guinness, light lagers and ales - and since they know that I rarely drink beer (a Lowenbrau) myself I told them that it is for making bread. They tease me and say they will be stopping by.... :snorky:

My sewing room needs vaccuuming so I'm going to place the Roomba in there and let it do the deed :heehee:

So sorry @Trunky , you had to go through surgery. I had the same symptoms of carpel tunnel, the tingle fingers, hand burning from the nerve endings etc. kept me up at night, so painful-- went to a chiropractor he worked my neck area, a little back, and in two weeks all gone. I now go routinely every 6 months to keep the hand in shape.

Up early (for a Saturday) at just after 7 am so I could eat a good breakfast vans digest it in time for the main event starting at just after 10 am.

Gentle exercise to wake my body up because if I shock my body by demanding too much of it before it's woke up properly, it gets embarrassing.

Just after 10, start the main event. 10am til 4:30pm of intensive physical training, involving lots of shouting, kicking, jumping, kicking, shouting, and kicking. Climax/finale, jumped over my friend, as you do, and smashed my foot through a board, like you do. It's been grading day at our martial arts club.

Then having nurtured my body for the last few days, eating things like red cabbage and lentils, in preparation for a day of righteous sweat and exhaustion, went to the chippy for tea. Now it's early hot bath to soak my aching muscles and bruised ankle, then off to the shop for some well earned tinnies.
