Decided to take myself out for a walk around the local heaths and woods today.

Ambling along in the spring sunshine, I stopped to pass the time of day with a fellow walker, as you do. Blow me, it turned out to be a former work colleague from nearly 30 years ago!

So we had a right good natter about what we've both been up to, some of the characters we worked with and so on. One of those pleasant little surprises which life throws up from time to time. :)

@Trunky that is always a fun surprise. Glad you had two bright spots in your day! I have run into old colleagues and had twenty minutes of conversation before I could remember their names :oopss:

I have been trying to find a new charge controller that has a display - I've been looking on the internet I should say. I have some without the display but I really would like to be able to read what's happening. I recently got one through Amazon and the display does not work - the supplier told me to get it repaired, the cheeky so and so's....

Last night's lasagna took 20 minutes longer to bake than anticipated and OH stalked out in a huff because it wasn't on the table when he wanted it there.....Can't decide whether to feed him these leftovers cold or make him wear them. :snorky:

Think I'll mosey down to the greenhouse and ask my seedlings what they suggest...:)

Going to cottage country today to measure and quote a job. My client is driving and says she doesn't care about the snow because she's got a big truck. :)

By the time we get back (it's over 2 hours each way) it will be what I consider the start of the weekend

Finally the inspectors have announced that they will be visiting my job site next week. They are two months behind. You'd think the staff would be ready, nope. Thank goodness my responsibilities sifted over a year ago. But I assisted in helping find the neglected areas over the last few day, just shaking my head. It is what it is. My list of my findings is sent to the powers that be and its on them. But of course had they "looked" in January like they should it would be done. My motto was "always be survey ready" but only the women I trained is, and her department is perfect. This will be an interesting next week.

Visited my father in law at the chapel of rest this afternoon.
This is the first time for me visiting anyone in the chapel of rest, I had a thousand images going around in my mind before hand but I'm really glad that I did it and as upsetting as it was he looked at peace.
He passed away on February 5th and it seems like ages ago.
We say farewell for now tomorrow afternoon :cry3:

the inspectors arrived here on Tuesday, they will stay two days. The sites they picked are not any of mine. Yeah. So I just get to just watch the circus as the others scramble to get stuff that should have been put in order many months ago. Have to plan our out to drinks after survey party though, that is my job, has been for 14 years now.

We booked two trips abroad: one to visit our friends in Dubai, and one to visit my mam.

Got out of the office for a few blissful hours, had a new bike delivered and was trusted <gasp> to look after Bethany for a few hours while Mrs L went on the pop.

She called after 30 minutes to make sure everything was ok lol

Recently went on a trip out to the Adrenalin assault course as a stag do. That was fun! I got to run the Krypton Factor course from the telly! :hapfeet: And my team came first which was a nice surprise! The motivation (also called "beasting" by the military guys) was a tad scary though

And I went to bongo bingo yesterday too. Bingo, drinks, impromptu raves with bass that made your teeth rattle... and to top the night, a live performance by the Vengaboys. 90's cheeeeese! :dancy:

It's been an odd week to say the least!

'Lovely' day nursing the first cold I've had since I retired 4 years ago. Hot water bottles, lemsip, nice coal fire. Oh had it last week, so his turn to look after me now:)

Good part of the day driving to and from court and getting nothing accomplished while there.

BUT it rained all day so didn't waste a minute of sunshine :)
