Quick visit to the gym, for a bit of Pilates, oh my did my muscles protest after my weeding marathon yesterday! Then coffee with nice friend in the local rose nursery, very tempted but resisted this time. Home for lunch, another hour's weeding, then off to see old 95 yr old dad in hospital. Good chat with ward sister and occupational therapist, seems he will come home soon with a ' care package' of team of helpers to come in in the morning, get him showered and dressed etc. then put some railings around toilet, bed, etc and give him a small trolley to wheel around from kitchen to living room so he doesn't have to carry cups of coffee and so on from room to room. So much happier that he will keep his independence. Finally made a Thai curry and sat in the sun with hubby for an hour.

Good morning @Ariadae, I'm so pleased to hear your dad is doing so well, I'm sure he will be really pleased to get home :dbgrtmb:. It sounds like he's been well looked after & has been provided with the care he needs at home.
I can't believe you managed to resist a little purchase at the rose nursery! :heehee:.

Ordered new phone, took car in for service and cycled to work.
Haven't been on a bike for a veeeeeery long time and arrived very sore. Not as sore as after the return trip though!
Picked up car and stopped off for bite to eat, got home put baby to bed, delivered some flyers I'd done for a charity thing and just about made it to the sofa. Cue Johnny Walker.

Got lots of wage earning work done. Was going to go out shopping and pick up potting soil but thought I'd water the cold frames before going out. One of the tubes on the fertilizer injector popped out and soaked my crotch and all down my legs so I decided not to go anywhere looking like a loser in the continence battle

          Cue the Merlot....

Spent most of the day in the front garden, but I can't mention that cos it's 'apart from gardening' on this thread, so....

Had a good, long afternoon sleep on the sofa. And nothing else today. Oh, I did have a jacket spud for tea but that's not exciting news, so I won't mention it. Oh, I already did.

Finally got the Star Wars film and settled with a KFC wicked variety bucket with high hopes which were dashed on the rocks of the little Irish island in the last scene...

Because it was cloud, showery and cold outside I decide to paint the Kitchen ceiling, a job I been promising myself I would do for a couple of years:dunno::heehee: So I donned my old clothes knowing that I always get covered in paint just as much as the thing I'm painting does:doh:. I actually managed to put 2 coats of white silk paint on without a a drop of paint on me:hate-shocked:........unbelievable!!!:snorky: I hadn't realised that the ceiling was no long white until I put a brush of the white paint on it.......:oopss: So tomorrow, since the weather is forecast to be the same as today, I'll be painting the Kitchen walls to finish off the job. The thing with these jobs is that one job leads to another and I can see me painting the whole house out.:rolleyespink::heehee:.

Something strange happened :phew: Kev bought himself some new clothes :phew: I almost past out with the shock of it all:thud:, :heehee:. Kev is certainly not one to buy new clothes, I normally have to nag him for six months before he buys a new pair of socks! Let alone new jeans & shirts lol....anyway that's over with for the next decade, now we can go back to avoiding shops & town centres & where possible he will keep his hands firmly in his pockets .

Got up at 5.45 am ( usual time for me ), put out bird food. Sat on sofa with coffee Got up at 5.45 - usual time for me. Put out bird food. Sat on sofa with my old boy bun Theo for an hour watching wildlife waking up. Cleaned out pet cages, which is daily chore and cleaned up mess made from cleaning out cages. Pet breakfasts. Checked hedgehog boxes, including the 3 over wintering hogs still here. Poked hubby out of bed at 9 am.

Later we went to a local golf club, which also has an art gallery. He had practise on the driving range and I had wander around the gallery.

We then went to Henllys wood to take pics of the Bluebells and wild garlic and watched the Red Squirrels scoffing nuts and seed ( there are feeders set up for them). Onto Penmon Point afterwards and watched the sea birds and 2 Dolphins. Indulged ourselves in the cafe.

Usual pet routine when got home and then watched Bates and The Bridge before bed.

Apologies in advance - moaning-Minnie alert.

Today has been a bit of a roller coaster sort of day.

It didn't start too well, and got worse, then slowly better.

First I was woken at 3am by IzzMcWhizz wanting to go outside. She's been having an upset stomach on and off over the past few weeks (I blame food parcels from the local foxes, one of whom was screaming for a mate last night). She is normally a sleep-through-the-night-until-her-food-bowl-moves sort of dog, so I know when she asks, she needs to go! Ok, 15 mins later, back to bed, but she wanted cuddles, nearly stole my pillow, and did steel my share of the duvet. (Pampered, my dogs? nEver!!)Needless to say, I didn't get much more sleep....:doggieshmooze:

Our other dog, Harley, is not good with other dogs, so it suits us that the local paths are designated as dogs-on-lead. People take the normal relaxed Belgian approach to such rules, leaving their dogs off lead unless seeing someone else put their dogs on (OK, sometimes I have to ask..) I was hoping for a gentle walk, as I was feeling a little fragile... First woman we saw, I know cannot hold her retriever, and drops the lead if he lunges. So I asked her to wait whilst I scrambled up a bank with both of my dogs on lead, to get out of her way.... Apparently an unreasonable request:scratch:.
Second person, another regular, as normal was on her GSM, totally ignoring her working spaniel. Fortunately today he didn't try to come over to play.
Third woman approaching is, has 6 dogs off-lead:yikes:.When she sees me, she puts one of them on a lead. Yet again, I was scrambling up a bank onto the nature strip to get away from her loose dogs, :help:two of which ignored her calls, and came right up to my two yet-again-leashed dogs. I suppose at least the farmer didn't see me - he would have shouted at me, as he did when I stepped onto the nature strip to get out of the path of his tractor....:wallbanging:
The last group of dogs were relatively well behaved, and recalled back to their owners.

As you can imagine, I was not a happy bunny on my way home. Then I saw one of the regular walkers. (A bit of background - Belgians are known for being very reserved, and reluctant to speak an outsider from the next village, never mind another country. I have worked really hard at developing relationships in my neighbourhood, and after 3 years, am starting to see results.) "good morning!" He called out in Dutch. "It appears that Spring has gone on vacation!". :yahoo:I could have hugged him!!:heehee:

Getting back to the house, We were all cold and wet. Warm sofas were enough for the dogs, I needed tea and cake!:coffee:

                                Sounds (unduly) stressful :grphg:
Hoping IzzMcWhizz soon overcomes the tummy issues (poor thing!)
Sorry the other canine owners were not as "careful" of their dogs and the "rules" as they might have been :grphg:
How wonderfully "balancing" that your final encounter was a positive one: what a nice person!!!
Tea, and cake, were (hopefully) one of celebration that your final encounter was a very positive one where that person and attitude overshadowed all those negative ones!!
                                Here's to that man :ccheers:
And this is for you! :grphg:
