        What did I do today?

Well, we dragged the body into the shed at last. It's very hard trying to lift a dead body anywhere when it's fresh. It just sags in the middle and is just very awkward to lift; better to wait a few days when it gets a bit stiff and easier to lift.

We've put it into the shed but we're worried about if it might smell too much in there. Mind you, the inside of the shed's a bit whiffy anyway. I believe years ago they used to put Quicklime on a body but they only seem to have ordinary lime in the local builders' merchants. How do you speed up ordinary lime?

I suppose the deceased will appreciate being in out of the snow and rain at the moment. We always try to be considerate to people. And I'll keep you posted on events as they happen because I'd say you'll be interested.

Going out to do a bit of gardening now.

Kiln it at 1000c, that drives the Co2 off making it calcium oxide (quicklime)

Just add water to make it boil, but wear protective goggles and gloves.

Don't forget to remove the teeth and hair first:thumbsup:

Thanks for the tip about teeth and hair, Zigs. Will do. Going out looking for a kiln now.

If you mix the bones with acid, it'll make a readily available fertiliser :)

What sort of acid would you recommend. I remember LSD from the sixties. Boy! That was bad acid so we won't use that. Would a chemist's shop be the best place to buy acid or maybe we could nick a load of car batteries. We couldn't find a kiln. They seem to have gone out of fashion. My brother has a very small kiln for stained glass but you'd hardly get a couple of bottles into it, let alone a bag of lime.

Depends on what size of body really.

Is it just the bones you need to get rid of?

I think I've come up with the ideal container for the body. A spare wheelie bin, we have. It's all-over green, so plenty of green credentials there and it'll contain the whiff that's starting to emanate.

Still can't find a body-sized kiln so we'll have to go down the acid route. Got short thrift from the chemist when I asked him for a 25 litre drum of acid. Anywhere else I could get acid?

This business is taking up a lot of my day; maybe I should just dump the body somewhere and take up gymming like Redstar.
