Last night we had a very successful Dinner and Dance for our bridge club. Excellent menu, good company, great entertainment (a male singer, just like the good old cabaret artists, who picked his music and songs to fit the mood of the people that were there) and we ended up with the husband of one of our members doing the last couple of songs. He's a superb professional Elvis impersonator. :dbgrtmb:

Then we had to scrape the ice off the cars before we could drive home :phew:

I won't be glued to the TV all day:mute::sofa:

We have been for a nice 3&3/4 mile walk first thing this frosty/sunny morning and once we were back home and had had a nice hot cuppa (hot chocolate) we both went up into our loft for another decluttering session and have just come back down for lunch as I was starting to feel a bit wilted:sad: Hope to go back up the loft after lunch and then want to get all the stuff we are not keeping over to the tip for them to recycle:snorky:

Actually, I will be glued to the TV. With "work" in front of me, typing up reports at the same time watching Donald Trump be sworn in.

I'm avoiding it like the Plague because, as you know, I have no respect for the 45th President, but plenty of respect for the USA. I sincerely hope I'm wrong but my Gut tells me that, after the next 4 years, America will be disappointed, disillusioned, and poor.:dunno:

Of course he did Redstar as Obama was only allowed to stay as President for two terms:scratch:

I just hope and pray for the world that this man changes his Racist attitude towards fellow human beings and I wonder how many times a day he has to practise his finger actions.:snorky: At least the Obamas didn't bring the hatred to themselves like the Trumptons have done.According to news reports hardly anyone turned up today whereas when Barack got in there was thousands of people so that must tell us something:runforhills:

I respect your views, redstar, but I think Obama brought the USA economy from almost depression levels to the stronger state in which it is now. I think he would have done an even better job if he hadn't had his feet and hands tied by there being a Republican controlled Congress and Senate over the years. That would be like our Prime Minister [Conservative] being faced with the House of Commons and the House of Lords being entirely made up of one single Opposition party and having every policy blocked just because she was a Conservative.:dunno: I think most of the world countries view Obama as the most articulate, intelligent, compassionate, and sincerely patriotic President the USA has had in decades. I really hope that Trump makes the USA great again, but I don't think many people outside the USA would buy a second hand car from the man. But I will have my fingers crossed hoping that I'm completely wrong and that the country will not be so divided, unequal in the huge gap between the Rich and the poor, that the States that need their economy bringing back to life have that happening to them.:coffee::snorky:

At first the two choices threw me for a loop. But, never hillary. So as a manager myself, I did like what Trump will bring to the office, not government, but run like a business.

As far as the statement---Obama Presidency caused this Presidency, does not mean, the 8 years were over . It means the type of Government that had been happening, 60% of the people did not want it that way any more. Trump is giving the Americans what they want a government for the people. And the later is my belief.

here is a summary from someone who did vote for Obama.
I wept this morning at Inauguration, thanking God. 8 years ago, I gave Obama a chance and the benefit of the doubt, irritated frankly that many people dissed Barack from day one in office. I hoped and prayed that our country would prosper and relationships healed across our land.
He failed to do it, utterly wasting a great God given opportunity.
Eight years later, we still do not know actually, if in fact he is even a Christian or a Muslim! Not to mention millions and millions of good paying middle class jobs that should be in America, are still transferred into Mexico, Taiwan, etc. It has been reported that some 12 million illegals have invaded across the border, and are in the USA, right now.

Thank God in Heaven, we have yet another chance...we appear to have a President (although flawed for sure) now for ALL of the people, instead of one owing allegiance to, and enriching select special groups of society...and the rest are left out.
We serve a great and good God!
