We had ours on Saturday and once again I have side effects, they lasted for 4 days last year. Feel rough but its worth it.:dbgrtmb:. Nose is blocked, headache with light headiness , running eyes and feeling very achy. Thankfully it doesn't effect hubs .

My sister used to have it yearly ... and every year she got the 'flu! We have never had the shot ... nor plan on it although it is free at the chemist with no booking.

In 1969 while working in West Australia I had Hong Kong Flu, it was awful
Was working in the outback; a camp of about 30 people, most of us got it
The local town -Kalgoorlie - doctor sent a large toffee jar full of small white tablets to our camp and advised us to take them until recovery
I've never felt so ill as then
Each year we are offered the flu jab, I always decline; Mrs C occasionally has it - this year she is going to have it
In the past two months we have been tested for Covid six times and fortunately we are OK

Hubby has had it for 7 years and never got a reaction. When i was having mine the chemist didn't get it right he had to try again, he said that my arm was thin that's why he had trouble, but hubby was fine.
My arm is fine no swelling or sore.

Last year when I was in hospital I had to have IV and my arm was black and blue as my veins collapsed constantly. My arms were very thin and my veins used to "vai de ferias" (go on holiday) according to the nurses. :heehee: In the end I was put on tablets.

I've always had trouble with my veins when they want to stick needles in, I used to give blood they had trouble finding a vein, the one time it hurt so much that i didn't go again. When i was 15 i had to have a wisdom tooth out ,they had to put me out but couldn't find the vein in my hand so had to be put under with those mask thingys. When I was 22 and pregnant had to take a blood sample, the nurse at the surgery had to call the doctor to put the needle in. But now that I'm a lot older can see a lot of veins in the backs of my hands.

I practice my sight reading each morning for around a hour. I have a Roland FP-7F.
I will never be amazing but I can play lots of songs. My sight reading is always slow but due to the Virus and not popping out for coffee, lunch or even holidays it has improved..slightly. I am encouraged and after about 3 or so months with daily practice I am getting to where I would like to be.. Old books came out You tube also helped. I have never been a TV person apart from Football. So this is a challenge that is being enjoyed. Royal Albert Hall afraid not, Local pub of course. Playing and singing older songs I am ready for the old folks home. Can I have another biscuit Matron.

Same with me too @Logan, always have trouble finding a viable vein. My last surgery I was in the outer room waiting to be knocked out prior to going into theatre and nobody could put a line/ cannula in at all. In the end they called for the actual anaesthetist and he ended holding my arm and wrist in a vice like grip to try and raise a vein....30 minutes later I was ready for my surgery. They couldn't believe how difficult a task it was.
When I need blood tests I always try and have the same phlebotomist now as she knows how to find blood in me!! My Mum had the same problem and also our eldest.
