Collected my new car - it's a Peugeot 308 1.4 petrol. Drives well - but I do miss the torque of my old diesel engined 307. The petrol car costs £60 more per year on road tax - as it belches out more toxins that my ancient 2.0l diesel 307 .

Any how - moving onto the front garden fencing - I've made a gate - here it is ready to go - I'm quite pleased with it

 

You can't beat the diesel motors...we've got a diesel and also a petrol and they are more expensive on road tax

Went to the daily grind, happy as a lark. Some of the clients were grumpy, a few clients decided they had an "emergency" which began a couple of weeks ago ( aka it dawned on them it is now Easter!); a couple of staff were grumpy; tried to mediate for the sake of efficiency, got balled out by one of the, stressed, senior partners. Kept smiling, started clock watching. Got home, started raining. Cuddled Oz, checked on yesterdays plantings, had a cuppa and ... RE-LAAAAAAX!!! Thank goodness for the next four days

 

Moving back onto diesel cars - I found out today that an MOT inspection can be refused where the owner cannot show that the car has had a cambelt fitted in accordance with manufacturers recommendations. So if you take a punt and leave the cambelt unchanged - you won't get an MOT.

I believe that this new rule comes into play because the engine is red lined during the emissions test - if the cambelt breaks during this test - it will destroy the engine .

Punishing diesel car owners again.

 

Yes this is the first long 4 day weekend I have had since retiring , looking forward to it
