@Logan I was terrified whilst a passenger over there. The country road such as the one in the video has a lot of traffic and the narrowness of the asphalt lanes was exactly the experience I had. Plus the fact I'm not used to being on the left side. If only I had such control of my face and tongue whilst motoring over there, as playing poker, I'd be rich!

I had a busy day on the road. Two doctors, fabric store, upholstery place, grocery store, farmer's supply. And all of them out of my local area.

I always slow down to let a bus in. Today I could see Halton #2 up ahead getting ready to pull onto the road, signal flashing so I purposely slowed a little so the tailgating blokes behind me wouldn't try cutting him off. And I slowed down from 80 to just under 70 (posted legal speed, in kilometers) It is against the law to block buses doing lane changes but lots try to "outrun" them which is nasty so I fight back. This is when I'm driving the Dodge Caravan which is obviously much larger than the sedans on the road. After all, the bus driver is just trying to safely do his job and people standing in 18f conditions shouldn't have to wait longer because some jerk with heated seats wants to save 10 seconds of his sorry life. . Lori the Road Warrior ... oops, half your day apart and half latest moan :heehee:

@CanadianLori over here the country lanes can be terrifying at times, some people drive fast on them thinking that nobody will be about and the tractors as well.

I think it was the fact that there was so much traffic on such a narrow 2 lane road which was frightening to me. Plus stupid me had cadged a ride in exchange for paying the petrol and with someone who chain smoked and their windows didn't operate.

I did love seeing the country side. All so manicured! :)

I had another sorta busy day. Saw a client. Got rods delivered. Did some tidying and then decided I'd best get on with properly fixing the dryer venting. The builder had used cheap flexible tube and it had split - just inside the drywall (think you call it wallboard) so I had to move the washer (this is a full size front load-heavy) and then pull out the dryer, (again full size) then get out my drywall knife and cut a bigger opening. Then fish in there to attach another piece of tubing then attach a fitting to the back of the dryer. Just washed a few mats and will now test to see if the exhaust works. :fingers crossed:

And I sorted the shelving full of wiring, fans, pumps etc that had to come in for the winter from the two unheated greenhouses. :blue thumb:

Now I'm going to sit on my behind and call it a day :)

I finally put up all of the Christmas decorations and now I'm sitting down with a glass of sherry or two.
          :drunk:
Berry had been sick a few times this morning, lucky he did it on the washable mats, must be something that he picked up, I have to stop him licking the grass.

@Logan I will be putting my Christmas lights on the stairway today to brighten things up. Think I'll skip the sherry though. Hmmm, I believe I have a bottle somewhere and now I'm wondering, does it go bad? :dunno:

I usually don't decorate inside until the 15th but this year is so gloomly that I'm starting a bit early and pacing it out. :blue thumb:

And I've got 10 pounds of butter sitting on the counter for cokie dough making to start. I'll store the dough in the refrigerator until the weekend and then the baking marathon starts :)

We put up a few decorations a few days ago and and I took some over to my brother's yesterday to brighten up his place too. Can't put too many hanging / dangling ones up as it might hinder his budgie's flight path !!.

Been also doing a few more knitted Christmas Tree Decorations this morning as it was too nippy to venture out doing gardening tasks. .....hasn't been much better this afternoon either, but the jobs won't do themselves sadly!

Went to Borth for a few hours. Got my bike out and went for a ride along to a area called Ynyslas. In the summer you have to dodge the traffic. Now both pubs closed, and very few people around except builders. House prices have rocketed here since virus. You have to be tough to live here although it never freezes it feels cold. Some hardy surfers in wet suits go in the sea and para surf. The town itself is virtually closed, relying on holiday makers who flood the area in summer. Ynyslas has loads of sand dunes of natural beauty also good for sunbathing some folk forget their swimsuits. Dogs are allowed on the beach during winter. Caravan parks here for Summer hols, lots are owned and are a good way to use up your cash.
Ground rent, they supply gas and metered electric and chuck your van off after so many years. not for me. A great day.

@CanadianLori sherry doesn't go off, but it's a good idea to drink it.
Around here a lot of people have put their decorationsup early this year and all of the decorations have sold early as well.

Lounging about day to day - just finished reading the January issue of Garden Answers magazine.

There is a disturbing article on page 11. If I attempted any of these poses - they would have to call an ambulance.

A couple of weeks ago I went down to a friends to apply some weedkiller to his driveway. Never went inside his home and we kept 2 m apart. It had been raining that day - but I figured - what the heck - I'll spray the weedkiller anyway.

I've just come off the 'phone to him. I asked if the weedkiller had worked. He said, yes it's killed all the weeds, but there's a problem. A problem, I said, what do you mean? You can see where you walked across the lawn - there are patches of dead grass that look like foot prints....

                            Oops...

That reminds me of a day on the playing field years ago.
The playing field was one of two that I was in charge of. Both fields were used by local schools and came under the control of the local GLC Park. One day I was provided with a woman assistant. I wasn't happy, apart from the obvious. This woman was a total nutter.

I had measured out and marked out a 440 yd 7 lane running track, single handed. It had all the AAA areas in the center. Comes the day. I gave this woman the task of marking out. This entailed mixing a lime based wash and using a three wheeled marker, to go over the existing white lines of the track etc. Off she went. Why she took with her a very lengthy string line. I don't know. Anyway. On her return to the store yard. She had noticed the string line had become loose and had dragged across the field. YES you guessed it. This silly 'meadow lady' had decided to white-line the tracing of the line.

So my AAA track now had lines not all 2inches wide, but The carfully mown field now had this zig zaggy white line across it. Thankfully the lady didn't like the job and left soon after.

Concreted in one of the posts for my new trellis arch. I was going to concrete in around the post to make it level with the patio - but decided to fill in with 10 mm limestone chippings instead - taken from another part of the garden.

                                I think it looks OK:
