I do not know much really myself ... use google translate but soon we shall use another language I feel .....
In my experience when a foreigner speaks to me I understand a tad and make allowances...Spanish and French experiences tell me that unless you say it correctly you get.. I do not understand..

Made a makeshift windowsill propagator cover with an unneeded shelf from a blowaway greenhouse and some spare plastic. Nearly dropped the seed pots in the process.

Now I just wonder why my makeshift things look just that, and not... how does the younger generation say... "instaworthy". It annoys me to death to check those beautiful creations where a lick of paint and a flick of sticky film transform an Asda Smart Price horror into something super classy. :gaah: Well, the cover does the job and there is still room for the next sowing lot. :)

My Astrophytum and Cheiridopsis have germinated (in a week!) and there is definitely something going on in the Hungarian Chillies pots. :yahoo:

Aww no! She's lovely and very patient with me, I think if you're in prolonged company of people whose 1st language is not yours then it's only courteous to try and learn a little of their language...shows you care imo.

I can understand......well ok..get the gist of what hubs and his family/ friends are talking about , but not that confident to speak it really. I do say a couple of well rehearsed one liners on the phone to my sister-in-law occasionally. I do find with other family members that if I greet them using their language ( one word, hello) then they think I'm talented enough to engage in a full blown conversation!!!
Not so!! I can ask them if they would like a cup of tea and if they would like milk / sugar!! Not very useful in phone chats!!!:roflol::coffee:
