    Just had a panic on.

Kat and me were in the Kitchen and we couldn't get the door open to the Living Room. I had to phone Maria to get a large screwdriver and wedge the door open from the other side.

The lock that is only about a year old had broken inside. So I now have a door that's got wood missing, so it will be lots of filling. I will put a ball catch on, sometime.

Is anything made these days that lasts more than a few months?

Well that certainly put my BP up.

@john558 that is pretty pee poor of the lock to only last that long. I'd be annoyed too.

@Victoria I did one of the drawers and part of the door to their right.

I'm just going to carry on with touch ups. And also go out and have trysie of the shelving in the greenhouse - shelving that was inspired by @rustyroots and a recent thread reminded me to have a look at it. Yes, it will be at least 2 months before I can put any plants out there and also be able to afford to heat it. If I was to try to heat it now, it would cost about $180 per month. :yikes:

        Passes my scrutinisation then.

Started a diet! When I had my last op in March 2019 I weighed 112lbs and my Doc and Physio told me to gain weight. At one year check up 2000 I was 132lbs and told to stop there. Now I am :hate-shocked: ... so the diet started today. Pedalled for 30 minutes. Drinking lots of tea (either Earl Grey, Ginger or Peppermint, never any sugar or milk). Boiled egg and one slice granary for lunch, al dente heart cabbage and sardines for dinner.

I think lockdown lard is silently creeping up on most of us Vicky...:yikes: Can't wait for slightly warmer and drier days and for my health to return.
To be out in the garden all day and to be able to go for days out further afield and to resume socialising with our friends again .....roll on more active days!!

I've been carrying on with touching up cupboards. But not before doing some tidying in the cellar and accidently knocking over a fluorescent tube to give me more to clean up!

One good thing is I discovered some bakeware that had disappeared a few months ago. I had forgotten that I had put it in the dishwasher down there. I need to run it once in awhile to keep it in good shape. It's a 25 year old miele that does a dandy job, even to this day. :)

                Quite right too. :paladin:

40+ years ago I had a large building company do a lot of alterations for us. It wasn't until near the end of the work that I spotted something not right. I got someone in to look at it and they found other things that weren't right. The builder refused to do anything about it so I told him he was now in breach of contract and the money I had held back was forfeit and I will sue for any further expense above that if there is any.

There was quite a bit of further expense and I issued a claim in the court against him. By the time the summons was issued he had closed his Ltd company and moved all the assets into another company of his. This meant I couldn't do anything about it - and he gleefully said so, in writing.

One of my customers offered for himself and the 'boys' to go round and sort him out. I politely declined.

Another of my customers, a multi-millionaire, had recently signed a contract with the builder to have £1.2 million of work done (building 2 garage forecourts for him). He asked me the full details and asked if he could have a copy of the letter from the builder. A week later he popped into me at work to say that he thought I would like to know that he had now cancelled his contract with the builder and used the letter as evidence of bad faith. :blue thumb: :heehee: It still meant we were out of pocket but not as much as the builder.

Just got back with our Greenhouse Tiles and see a For Sale sign at the bottom of our Garden..The elderly couple have some farm type land next to their Property that adjoins ours...It has old walnuts trees on it and a maybe a couple of other ones, the rest is just grass which they at least keep in shortish around the borders but often the rest is left to just grow..Just looked up the estate agent and this is it....
                    Parcelle de terrain à bâtir - 13 500€
We are thinking seriously about buying this now..We have no idea what will go on it..We have one issue with one neighbour to the side of us with out of control 4 Hunting Dogs who are indoors 99%of the time..phew...
Any thoughts.......any......we do not, particularly want it, but we are worrying already..We could afford this without going short, but on top we would normally pay all expenses as well...

and when we get our Electricity Bill it is always address to No 1 of this road...the letter box is still there also, covered by hedges.

from having a flooded driveway.... but others get it eastwards, instead:heehee:...

Why do I have weird going ons in my Large Smilies ??

Just put the dampers on spending this beautifully sunny day in the garden and I'm so upset ( and in excruciating pain).:ouch1::ouch1: Turn around awkwardly while doing some light housework and my leg gave way under me, caused by my knee .
Can't hobble now even with a crutch or my Dad's stick without screaming out in agony.
Hubs is hanging the laundry out to dry in the beautiful sunshine.
