Offside rear suspension coil spring - twanged this morning. Had to use the car starter as the battery was flat and then went out for a drive around to give the battery a good charge. Horrible clunking sound as the spring broke - training immediately kicked in - I dropped her down a cog and accelerated hard then took a few sharp corners. Sod's Law as usual - getting a new car in April/May - but we need transport in the interim. Nothing ever goes right for me....

      I've been forgotten about.:sad::cry3:
In some local areas they're way ahead and are calling up the over 40's now!! That will probably mean my other niece will get hers...then the whole family ( down here ) will be done..except for poor old me!!!:noidea::cry3:

Are they not recommending that in your situation, you contact your GP?

Hi Sian, how are you both doing?

I received the official invite about 3weeks ago and was told to either log on to book and have one at a hub or wait to be contacted by my own Dr's surgery as they are able to vaccinate their own patients. This is what my hubs did, they actually phoned him on the same day he received his letter.

If I try to phone , a message says please do not phone enquiring about Covid vaccinations...you will be contacted.

I expect what will happen ( like it did for the 70's + group) it will eventually be announced on the national news that anyone in my age group that has been missed should now contact their GP. One hitch I think is that last week some extra last minute vulnerable groups were announced that came into immediate effect....so they had to be fitted in first.

@Upsydaisy - how frustrating, especially as the rest of your family seems to be being called.

we are doing ok, thanks. Hubby is now able to control his temperature much better, and is no longer achy. The cough is still there, but officially is out of isolation now. I’m going to phone the GP to check that it’s ok for him to go out... (they changed the rules during our week of isolation/quarantine). I got the all-clear last night. Poor track-and-trace centre - the texting service wasn’t working, so they had to phone all the “negative” results through, as well as the positive. At least they got to speak to very happy and relieved people, like me!

@Upsydaisy you'll probably be contacted soon. Waiting for your GP is that they haven't got the same set up as a hub, the hub can take a lot at a time with social distencing and mask.
If you've changed your mind you might still be able to book it online at the hub.

Yes , ours is a huge surgery covering a large area , however hubs was done a couple of days after they phoned him...and IF it's done alphabetically ( not sure) our surname does start with A.
They have a brilliant system in place ..no waiting around....well apart form me it seems:whistle:

No worries... just something to moan about, I'll get done eventually....might have invented a better vaccine by then!!!:heehee:

After having my vaccination on Monday, yesterday my arm started to ach a bit. I knew from having the flu one last year that I'd have a dilayed response, but it will go on for a few months.

Yes same here I always get an achy arm after any jab too...thankfully it's never too debilitating, a paracetamol helps ease it .

Even a blood test makes my arm ache...but that's all in my head I know, it's only because I know someone has stuck a needle in me!!:roflol:

Sore arm here too - took 2-3 days to go off, begin to wonder if its because the needle hits the bone or some tendon as they seem to bury it so deep into the upper arm / shoulder.

Unsual that you cannot take paracetamol, its the base painkiller uk doctors recommend and that most folk can tollerate ?

Ibruprofen, still find lots of folk take it on an empty stomach, always take with or after food, of at least two mouthfuls otherwise the tablet can stick to the stomach wall and cause problems.

Could try rubbing the sore area with Ibruprofen Gel or similar, you seem to have so many more over the counter drugs avaikable than we do here ?

I think I've had my mobile phone for around 3 or 4 years and try to take care of it with a protective wallet etc. However, this morning, I picked up the phone and realised that the outer casing had burst open. A closer look showed that the Lithium battery had swelled enough to force the actual mobile plastic casing wide open. The phone was still working but obviously there was a chemical reaction going on in the battery and that's never good. There has been a few incidents with Lithium batteries where, for some reason, they have caught fire, one in Japan where a cargo of Lithium batteries actually caught fire as the aircraft was taking off.
So, as the mobile was on a Tesco contract I visited the nearest Tesco store, which was in the next Town, and showed the phone to the Mobile Phone staff and explained that I thought I needed a new phone!
I have to say, that from the word go, the two girls were really well informed and extremely professional in replacing the phone, transferring and down loading all the data on my old phone to the new phone. registering the old phone, and explaining to an :old: like me exactly what they were doing and why.:love30: They too the time and had the patience to explain all that needed to be explained while keeping a very strict and safe social distance when dealing with customers...my Hat off to them:thumbsup:
I had to keep the old phone as it is my property and they couldn't take it so, on getting home, I wiped the phone clean of all the data on it. I wasn't too happy about leaving the old phone as it was, i.e. still connected to the battery and that the battery still had a chemical reaction that was making it swell and was a possible fire risk. So, I've dismantled the old phone and the battery is now in a steel container on the Patio. I've also had to buy a new protective Wallet for the phone as it's bigger that the old phone and it won't fit in the old wallet:wallbanging: The mains charger is not a UK spec and doesn't fit the main sockets so I've bought a new charger. I can use the lead that came with the non spec mains charger as a USB Charger from the Desktop computer to the new phone but I've got enough cables in that area so want to charge the phone in a different area from the main electricity.
So, I've got a new mobile phone, had to have a new contract without paying any more and perhaps now can do other things that don't mean finding a fire risk.:dunno::loll:

This morning made a jam tart and a apple pie with a bit of mixed dried fruit and cinnamon.
Also made a few shortbread biscuits for hubby.
