I have spent the last two hours sorting out two bureau drawers. :yikes: I think I have almost cleared enough to make two drawers into one. :hapfeet:

Some plumbing done yesterday. Kitchen mixer tap changed as it would no longer swivel and replaced washers on bath taps.

Something that is and isn't gardening:- we had two large mirrors (about 4'x2', I think) stored away that were, I think, on wardrobe doors. They now have a backing on them and have been attached to the fence in the pergola. It's not the best place for them but is a convenient one and, hopefully, they will reflect the multitude of pots that will be flowering on the patio in the summer.

@shiney , please keep an eye out for the birds, I know a few people that have place mirrors in their garden... with great effect too ... but in the end couldn't cope with the birds flying into them.

I had thought about it too but we get birds flying into our kitchen patio doors , because they can see through to the other window they think they can fly through. Most just get stunned but we had deaths too, mostly of young fledglings.

Fortunately birds don't fly into our pergola as it's more or less enclosed on all sides. Fenced on two sidesalmost up to the roof, summerhouse on third side and 7ft high Euonymous on fourth side with a path between that and the pergola that leads to the car port. There is a slight possibility that they might fly in there but can't do so at any speed because of the access.

Yesterday I attempted a walk to the post box...having thought, and felt, that regular use of the Tens machine was having beneficial effects on my dodgy leg. Not so seemingly.

I did manage it in the end....a normal 5min walk took over 20. I was struggling even after a couple of mins into the walk and in great pain but persevered with my lovely hubs arm as support.
I am now totally disheartened as I have been working so hard on my leg doing all the appropriate ,stretching, strengthening exercises to try and keep it flexible and mobile.
I feel as if my future will now mean I am going to be house and garden bound.....and I definitely am not ready for that. Have to do more research now.....so very deflated today.

We don't wear clothes that need ironing :noidea: They're all tumble dry, hang and wear. :blue thumb:

Just repeated the walk I did yesterday ( must have posted on a different thread ) and again it did become very painful but ( unless in my imagination) it felt a tad less so and my leg felt stronger. :fingers crossed:

That's great @Upsydaisy, what was the outcome of the x-ray?

I hardly do any ironing, i just put them in the tumble dryer for a bit and creases come out.

Nothing that I didn't already know @Logan ...Arthritis. I was told the exact same when I was 23 yrs old!!
As I wasn't happy with the guy I saw ...my own Dr is so popular it's hard to get an appointment, I persevered for a few weeks but eventually phoned the surgery and complained.
My own Dr phoned me this week and confirmed what I had thought..if it's a case of Bursitis, which I seem prone to getting ( along with an arthritis flare up) which is what I had initially thought then it wouldn't show up in the x-rays . She also thinks the other possibility is that it could be my hips causing the problem so has requested more x-rays. She has booked me in to have a steroid injection into my knee. The Dr doing this is phoning me tomorrow. The other possibility she said might be a knee replacement....not going down that route..... yet :yikes:. That will be my very last resort. Seen how new knees didn't benefit my brother or older sister...they still can't walk and have stiff joints.
Can't wait to have the jab...I've had steroid jabs in my ankles, hips and shoulders in the past and it's worked brilliantly. At the moment I am applying ice packs to my leg/ knee every 2-3 hours, it keeps the swelling at bay and helps ease the pain a bit but is so time consuming that it's difficult fitting all the normal day to day stuff in.
                            So :fingers crossed::fingers crossed: :)

@Upsydaisy :grphg: big hugs to you. Have you considered cycling or swimming, both very good for arthritic joints. I hope the steroid injection will sort it out. Putting coloured tape or stickers on your patio doors should help prevent birds flying into them.

I don't iron anything, even if it's creased. Life is far too short for wasting on laundry chores.
