Final 2 fence panels installed today. Been invited to a BBQ tomorrow - plan is to swoop in - eat all the burgers - drink all the beer and then quickly swoop out again.

Today is a National Holiday ... Portugal Day / Independence day / Carnation Day ... the day Portugal became independent from the Dictatorship of Salazar on 25 April 1974.

      Carnation Revolution - Wikipedia

There are normally cannons booming about 7am but I didn't hear them today ... we have many sea forts and castles with cannons!

So, we went for a ride in the foothills of the Serras near us. It was quiet and beautiful with all the Spring flowers blooming. Lovely and peaceful with wildflowers just down the road from us.

Baked. Baked bread, rolls, baguettes, gluten free bread, cherry tarts and carrot muffins.

Emailed a few friends and one shared this- I did ask her, "who, me???"

On an emotional rollercoaster at the moment, reliving past events / last few days leading up to my Mum passing away (tomorrow ,she was in hospital for a week prior and none of us had any idea that she even had cancer let alone just how seriously), then of course the reminders of the impact Covid had on restricting visiting during what turned out( unbeknowingly) to be the precious last week for my Dad too. Very sad times.

Thanks Vicky, I am trying but finding it a struggle..things keep popping into my head. Like yesterday ( 15yrs ago).. I took everything into hospital to do my Mum's hair and I remembered the difficulty of trying to wash it in the hospital bathroom then needing to get my hairdryer checked for safety by the hospital electrition !! They all come flooding back, but so do all the shared giggles too... occasionally.:dbgrtmb:

It's Sunday so baked rolls, bread, baguettes, muffins, apple tarts and cooked breakfast sausages for protein snacks, chicken for chicken caesar salad, chicken for a chicken salad, ground beef for making panzerotti.

6 Loads of laundry and all these things whilst listening to my beloved Corrie.

Then took granddaughter to get her jab and whilst she was in there, quick grabbed the romaine lettuce I need for the salad.

And now I still have a little time to go outside and putter :)

Yes and thank you, it's really nice with all the Canada geese on it.
Used to take our first goldie there and he used to eat the bird droppings off the grass but it didn't affect him.

I was brave today, I went into town for the first time since March 2020, felt quite shaky but ok.

Hubby went to do the shopping at Tesco today he didn't feel comfortable at all, he goes for 7am but all the dot.com shoppers are always there. He feels safer at Sainsbury's they have their dot.com shoppers at another place.so he's happy to go there.
