I've seen pencils used for perches when a dowel wasn't handy.

I had to go buy another TV. After all the rigmarole of switching rooms, I discovered that the TV out of the worktable room would not fit on the dresser of the guest bedroom. So back it went into the worktable room and out I went to get another. I now have all of the cables in place and all of the television locations filled. I can truly say, I am sick of moving tv's and have no plans to do it again in the near future. :fingers crossed: I've got one each of the 4 rooms up here, two on the main floor plus the CCTV monitor and another big one down in the cellar. Enough!

Cooked some pork chops and sausages on the barbecue. Was wearing my hat to try to keep dry.

Right now I am vacuuming. Okay, I'm not really but I did push the button on the Roomba :heehee:

And I better get on with making the jacket I started about 2 months ago

The majority of designs online don't have them because adding them would be utterly stupid! Think of creatures that may predate on your little guests and how much easier their job would be made by the addition of dowels.:)

Siting the box in a suitable position is vital, on a vertical wall away from things which can be climbed up, I think most predators would be unable to get to it. Magpies and such would be limited by the size of the entrance hole. As with all serious political polemics, we will have the Middle-of-the Road Liberal Anarchists (Marxist/Leninist) on one side, and the (insert your own worst fears here) on the other. You may have your own opinions, I could not possibly comment.

Just put some boxes on the left and some on the right.
            Birds are stupid.

Went for a really long walk as it's too hot and humid to start running again, haven't done it during the heatwave and I'm leaving it until Friday when the temperatures start dropping. On the way back home I realised I haven't smoked for a year and 3 days! :yay:

Haven't even vaped any juice with nicotine in it since Christmas Eve and hardly vape nowadays, 20 minutes a day maximum but typically more like 15! :)

Met 7 of my girlfriends at a seafood place down on the lake. This part of the lake is a good 26 miles across and with it being hazy we couldnt see any outlines of Pittsburgh PA but it was lovely. Lots of large boats coming in and out of the harbour. A lovely cooling breeze off the lake.

Then went to get back on the highway to come back home and construction had closed it so was forced to use a long and winding road which threaded through where the 1% live. Delightful!

Didn't get home until 3:30 but it was because of some louts. We had to wait an hour for a table as no restaurants take reservations anymore. A bunch of spoilt so and so's out of Toronto had been reserving tables at 5 0r 6 places for the same date/time and then at tne last minute deciding which one to go to and not even bothering to cancel their alternates! Louts!!!!

Still, a good time had by all.

Installed the frame today for the gate. When I had finished I asked my neighbour if they were happy with it. They were - you could see by the look on their face. You know that warm glow inside you get from helping someone out? It's worth its weight in gold. A couple of hours well spent IMHO .

Just the gate to be made and hung now - which wont take long.

I fixed a gate for the local Quakers once, lovely people, but the gate had been designed rather upside down, and it had sagged. I explained that rather than being designed to oppose the force of gravity, it had been built to withstand the pull of Heaven. It was in their burial ground after all.

A strong candiate for the luckiest man in the world award - it just wasn't his time:

A man has been rescued in Alaska after desperately flagging down help having been attacked and harassed by a grizzly bear for a week.

A US CoastGuard helicopter had been on its way to fly a team of scientists on a wildlife research mission when they were diverted off-course by bad weather and spotted his SOS message on a shack roof.

The pilots found the man stumbling out of the shack waving a white flag.

Had this shipment on order for 7 months and it eventually arrived at 8.00am this morning. The second one is not due for another 4 months.

Full container of plastic coated light steel tubes, mainly used for plant supports and building fruit cages. Trouble is, it arrived to late in the season, to much money now being tied up.

About a week ago I said to my hubby that we hadn't seen someone that we know for a long time, yesterday I saw him on my walks with one of our dogs. That's happened a lot lately when I've said that about someone.

I´ve always been fascinated by such "coincidences" Logan. Maybe because my Father was psychic I´ve always been open minded. In my teens I had a very detailed dream about visiting a large old house at night, then some time later it actually happened. Other experiences have combined to give me an eccentric view, far removed from the conventional.
