@Giri I had a feeling about my dad being ill, a few days later I had a phone call from my brother to say that our dad had passed away, he had been ill before which i think was a stroke but got over it very well.

I think these things tend to happen where our nearest and dearest are concerned, I can quite accept that some sort of link exists which our rather technological approach to science cannot cope with. Personally I prefer Plato to Brian Cox.
I think you can trust your feelings.

The last few days I have had memories ping on my FB account, which has made us all miss Thailand, so we went down to the Thai festival at Manchester for a meet up with friends. The Thai Boxing, dancing, along with the Thai food made it feel like we were in Thailand. My wallet is a lot lighter now, but the moths needed some fresh air anyways, if they are like homing pigeons then they should back with Shiney very soon.:heehee:

We went for a drive up in the Monchique mountains just behind us in my car with the top down. It was hot up there! :phew: It was a blessing to get back to our Paradise in the Orange Groves, several degrees cooler with a nice breeze. Sat outside admiring the garden (well me, T'other Half with mobile stuck to hand texting :frown: ) now in to have dinner, cottage pie and bimi with gravy.

Hi, shiney, we wrap it in wet paper towel and nuke it for one and a half minutes, turn over the another one and a half minutes. That timing still leaves a crunch to it. It is trial and error to palate. Lovely vegetable.I only like the stalks, same with Broccoli.

Busy day in the office today. Plan was to re-skin one of the polytunnels only for a container of coir blocks to arrive from Sri Lanka. Managed to get everything done, just have to finish off putting tension on the tunnel now. Time for something to eat and a well deserved large Gin.

Please @Victoria and @shiney what is a bimi? :noidea:

I decided to amuse myself by making a purse.

                        1627320536149-777413765.jpg

Then I delivered some clumps of daisies to friends, did some grocery shopping, picked up more fabric. It was a long process as I kept dithering between two fabrics. So I solved the problem by buying both. Did I mention I still have several pieces of fabric from last year that I haven't sewn up yet? Anyway, my new tops will go with the purse I made. Got that backwards didn't I?

And now just watching old reruns of Perry Mason. 20 more minutes and somebody will start shouting, "I did it, I did it!". :heehee:

Lori as far as I'm aware bimi is what we also call Tenderstem Broccoli.
That's what I've always thought, but I could be wrong. :)

@CanadianLori Upsy has got it right. It was originally a Japanese hybrid between broccoli and Chinese kale and gives very long and thin tender stems with a small floret. I think the word Tenderstem is trademarked when coupled with the word broccoli  and I also think that on your side of the pond it's called Broccolini - also trademarked.
