And there I was thinking I had bought purple sprouting broccoli -- anyway I have some mince and potatoes, so if the spirit moves me I will build a Cottage Pie tonight.

PS. I used to have a crush on Della Street ...

Ah no .. Nigella it was who floated my boat, but Della was Perry Mason´s secretary if memory serves -- the sainted Delia was too prim and proper for me -- Max Wall put it best -

I love the girls that do and I love the girls that don´t.
I hate the girls who say they will and then decide they won´t.
But the girl I love the best, and I hope you´ll think I´m right,
Is the girl who says she doesn´t, -- but she looks as if she might ...

Here we are back to Perry Mason again. We love the cars in it.

@Victoria it is interesting that both shows use jazz for their background and theme music. Peter Gunn's is just a little more raw. The casting people were also kind to LGBT actors. And you probably noticed that a lot of the guest actors played in both series.

Yes, Broccolini - I've grown that in trugs. It never made it inside as I was eating it raw as I worked around the garden!

It is going to rain on and off all day so I'm freshening a couple of rooms upstairs today by making new valances. And a repairing some tops I made awhile ago. I had used double needles on the regular sewing machine to simulate a coverstitch hem and they have been breaking because they don't stretch so out they come and under my fairly new coverstitch to do them correctly!

Della was Perry's capable of secretary. (Paul Drake's character calls her, "Beautiful" throughout the series.) She was also the mother of the actor William Katt who played The Greatest American Hero in the same named series.

I "direct" the Perry Mason intro! Raw is a good word to describe Gunn's music ... but he is NOT a "Pete" to me. No, neither of us noticed the overlap of actors ... will have to pay more attention. :th scifD36:

I have to confess Upsydaisy that when it comes to Nigella, cookery related things are not the first that come to mind ...
(But you´re right about my memory for names, this one was an unusual triumph).

Had a 15kg bag of dried dog food delivered and was put in the garage, hubby was asleep so I quietly got one of the dog food bins that we use to store it in and put a bit in. Made sure that it wasn't too heavy to take upstairs where the rest is put. It took a lot of going up and down the stairs but i did it without hubby waking up.
I won't say anything until he notices it. Got to be careful of my back and my slightly prolapse bladder so i did it that way. Didn't count how many times i had to go up and down but it was a lot.
                    :phew:

Yes it's dried dog food and it goes into a tall bucket/ container with a lid on in the spare bedroom.

Do you feed them up there? If you feed them in the kitchen, would it not be better to keep it in the garage. There seems to be a lot of stair climbing ... great if you need the exercise though!
