Your Day (apart from gardening) - what took place?

Today going to defrost the freezer

 

Yesterday we went for a lovely drive in the country East of us near the foothills in my car with the top down. Hardly saw a soul. Came back and sat in the garden for an hour with a cold drink.

 

The excitement of it all.

Very, very rarely do I engage in spot of 'road rage' - this morning being an exception.

Scenario:

Young man driving behind me - road works and then a set of traffic lights at a cross roads just beyond.

This is what happended:

- I drive as usual through the road works - making sure there are no pedestrians trying to cross (it is a built-up area next to the shops) and that the workmen are well away from the moving traffic;

- young man drives up behind me - trying to 'encourage' me to drive faster through the lights - as he is not sure that he will be able to follow me through on green;

- I keep calm - the rear camera is on - if he wants to drive into the back of me - then it's on video and I'm getting a new car in the next couple of weeks anyway;

- we get safely beyond the road works and the lights at the cross roads are about to go red. They have been green for some time - so experience tells me they are about to go red;

- as I approach the lights - sure enough, they go red. I stop - no drama - no skidding - nothing - a normal gradual stop;

- young man exagerates heavy braking behind me and gesticulates - and not in a pleasant way. I suspect that he was not paying attention to the road conditions and felt rather foolish;

- I sit there for a few seconds and determine that it would be a good time to provide some personal advice to this young man, which I hope would further enhance his driving skills;

- by the look on his face, he was expecting an elderly lady to be sitting in the car;

- the thrust of the conversation:

Me - "When a traffic light has been green for a long time - that means that it is about to go red. You need to pay more attention to the road - you are a dangerous driver."

Young man - "You were driving too slowly."

Me - "It is also a good idea not to make rude gestures or mouth obscenities to other drivers - you can get into a lot of trouble doing that."

Young man - silence....

No shouting, no aggression - just a normal conversation. I hope that he will take on board what was said and become a better driver for it.

I don't drive slowly, I drive to the road conditions.

We need some for American red squirrels (not nice like the UK ones) that have invaded and are destructive!

I spent most of the morning on the road and I have so much to get done around here, inside and out, that I am sat here trying to figure out where to start. I guess I should do the cleanest jobs first and after finishing the last dirty ones, have another shower and put on clean clothes!

 

They always have a different approach to animals than they do to people.

Coloured my hair, when I put the conditioner on I always leave it for 10min so I decided to water the blueberries but that took me 20min. So my hair had a good conditioning.

 

While I'm frying in the garden poor hubs is continuing his attic sort out...now it really is hot up there..phew!!
Among all the old stuff he's bringing down to dump we found this from 1983!! I know the prices were relevant to the times...but gosh!!
