That looks nasty @pete, I hope it's healing a bit now. You have to be so careful in the garden, it's really a dangerous place with all those sharp tools and stick ends (with which I was stabbed in the eye once) Take care

@CanadianLori , your doors look really nice, I see that the glass appears to be bevelled edge, but are they something like leaded lights?

@Upsydaisy , your doors look like the kind I used to make, more the traditional type, with glazing bars.

@pete they are beveled and the glass is fairly heavy so it could be leaded. I like that they made two widths of panes so that the narrower doors still have three across like the wider set.

How's your finger? That looked terrible!

          Finger is Ok Lori, thanks.

I'm just looking at those doors and interested, is the glass in the usual separate pieces but set in Lead similar to how they do stained glass windows?

Yes, similar to leaded glass windows that these literally hold the rectangles of glass together. In this case using brass. I am still not sure if it is called the muntin or mullion.

I had a weird day of being continually on the move and accomplishing very little. I did get a bit of the shopping done. I did get a bit of the cleaning done. I did get a bit of paperwork done. Bits. That's all.

The only thing I did a lot of is eating! I have been snacking all day.

Ah I get it now, its brass, I was thinking lead might not be strong enough.

              Muntins, verticals in doors.
Mullions, verticals in windows, but little narrow stuff like those in Upsys are glazing bars.

Not sure what yours would be called

@pete, can you please be more specific with your posts? "a palm that had rotted in the centre after last winter" got me thinking of a palm of a hand rather than a plant

Hope your finger (and the palm) are fine now. :)

Did today's housework tasks to this as it was dark, damp and murky outside at the time.

Decided I will play sunny summer music everyday while I do the housework chores.

Later when the sun came out I went for a walk ,hubs stayed home to sort out the fallen trees and fix the greenhouse glass.

Which got me wondering if he grew hair on his palm before it rotted... wicked Lori,,,

I did some baking, as usual, whilst my beloved Corrie was airing. Finished the laundry and got things tidied. Finished a couple of small roman shades for a client.

Downloaded a Christmas Stocking pattern. Yup, already thinking of that because when I make them for people, they are embroidered with their names which takes time to set up the machine and sew off. A nice little gifts that have always been well received.

And I'm going out to the pub for an hour this afternoon. A nice lazy afternoon :)

Better get my war paint and skates on!

Our internet and landlines went down just after after 7:30 this morning. Fortunately this time for a good reason as the tree surgeons were cutting back the trees up our lane in preparation for us to finally ( after just over 2years now) get back to having overhead cables!!:hapydancsmil: No more cut cables when the hedges get trimmed.
We are back on temporary as the overhead cables are not yet completed and up and running.....but we can see them working on it. Our internet speed has already improved immensely.:dbgrtmb:

This is strange. Got back from Morrisons today - saw a guy in next doors garden. I went over to have a chat with him (me being nosey really) and it turns out that he is there to install some railway sleepers - just like the ones I have. In fact, the garden looks like a mini version of my garden. I don't know what to think about that...

I was able to get to the gardens when I visited there, just beautiful. Good memories.
