Thanks upsydaisy I make it early so I can put the sherry in it and this time of year I don't have a lot to do. Got to make some marmalade soon.

Just collected my new reading glasses, it makes everything so much better but it's going to take time to get used to.

Having a hard time spending money. I just booked train tickets to London and am waiting for the final verdict on the hotel (you might not be aware of this, but there are actually quite a few hotels in London), ready to pay more money. :wallbanging:

But I'm so very much looking forward to our little holiday, British Museum and Harrods are the only two "must" ticks and the rest is gloriously unplanned. Possibly V&A museum (it's so manageable and lovely), or Natural history museum (love the dinos and stuffed birds), and anyways a lot of walking and eating nice things. :)

Perhaps a theatre, or a comedy club? Can't wait :hapfeet:

I do love going up to London and we are very fortunate that all 3 of our brood are up there now so hotels aren't an issue. We were only discussing our next stay up there a couple of weeks ago and one place is definitely this one.

What is Sky Garden - Sky Garden - London

Thank you Upsydaisy, this went straight on the Want list. :) Looks absolutely brilliant place to visit.

London is great, my first experience was 1986 when everything that there was in the world was happening in London. BritPop, late punks, everything. :) I sat hours on Trafalgar Square waiting for any of the Durans (even Andy would do) to walk past. Everything we had only read in books or seen in the telly was right there, bobbies with helmets who called me and my friend "Young Ladies", red double deckers, tea, a Queen...

Nowadays after 10 or so visits, I mostly enjoy the museums and the food. There's no rival to British Museum, it's a true treasure on earth. :)

Sorted seeds out this morning ... I have way too many but want to get some in the ground in the next couple of weeks just in case we get some of the illusive rain. Is that gardening?

Just got back from a nice car ride up in the hills and it is gorgeous out.

My friends and I use to go up most weekends back in the very early 70s, loved going to Carnaby St. , Speakers Corner ,wandering down Bayswater Rd on Sundays admiring all the Artwork on display.

              bayswater road artists

A visit to Kensington High Street to browse at the latest fashions in Biba's was a must too.

If we went for the weekend then we stayed in a Youth Hostel in Holland Park sadly now closed down.......loved my late teenage years, every experience was so exciting!!:hapydancsmil:

Could've stayed with my Grandparents or many various Aunts/ Uncles but preferred to stay with my friends in the Hostel.

How times changed our brood travelled all around the world instead!!:)

I took my tortoise out of hibernation as I'd noticed some movement yesterday. He's had a nice warm bath and has been eating away.

It's always a relief to have him back again.

Washed the car, after pointed comment from neighbour, on Friday, that he had just done his.
Wouldn't normally take any notice, but him and his wife will not drop an idea once they get it into their heads.

                      The rain does mine :dbgrtmb:

I heard a local pub does a carvery on a Sunday and you can have a meal to take away, so I got myself a nice dinner to bring home (I hate cooking and chocolate biscuits tend to give me acid reflux after I've eaten ten of them)
Don't know if I'll do it again though, it made me feel very much alone, which I suppose I am now.
                      Must stop moaning :heehee:

On the way to my hospital appointment we were 1st in the queue waiting for the traffic lights to change in the centre of Winchester suddenly a Police Officer on a motor cycle swept in front of us holding up his hand to signal us to halt....people suddenly started taking photos/ videos as a car slowly overtook us....it was Prince Charles!!!

Hospital appointment went well , apparently they removed quite a chunk of newly developed bone growth and removed the left meniscus they also discovered damage on the right one too and did a partial removal. I was informed that I have another 8- 12 weeks recovery time ahead yet and have another appointment to see he Consultant in May. We discussed and have planned a new exercise programme up until May. I can now drop down to only one full set of the 9 exercises ( was doing 3 ) every day + 10 minutes on my static bike set on the lowest setting + a walk up our lane and back from our house and but the whole lane yet.:nonofinger:

Had a dental appointment today. For the best part of 50 years, I have had what I believed was a piece of shell that occasionally came to the surface of my gum. I mentioned it to my new dentist while in for a check-up, he did an x-ray, and today removed a large lump of root. Obviously, it had snapped off at an extraction all those years ago. Well now it has gone and I am pleased to say my mouth feels great. No bleeding, no pain, no alcohol for 24 hours!

Having had a total knee replacement, I am not au fait with meniscus removal. If the meniscus buffers the bones so you are not bone-on-bone, what happens with the removal of such? Make good/sensible use of the recovery time ... it could be shorter and it could be longer! ;)

Can become painful and lead to Arthritis, they try to avoid removal if they can ,especially in younger people....but at my age the benefits out way the potential worse side effects. So they say!!! :fingers crossed:
