@shiney I have also been cookie. Baked a dozen hot pepper buns, some French baguettes, made pasta salad, made pork fried rice (about a gallon of it for my hollow legged grandson), egg salad for sandwiches, bruschetta toppings both normal and hot and a large glass of ice water for moi :)

I've been cooking and preparing dinner, tea and supper for 36 tomorrow. :phew: Setting up Gazebos, chairs tables etc. as we'll be eating in the garden. Sorting cutlery, plates, for all meals, cups saucers and a few soft drinks. Everyone has been told to bring their own drink. I made six curries this afternoon. :hate-shocked:

I've travelling to and driving out of Manchester, Birmingham, Chester and Mold for years and had many near bumps, but just recently I've noticed that people seem to be buying cars with no indicators, rear view mirrors, side mirrors, and seem to be blind to other cars when changing lanes or turning left or right and that they're increasing in number exponentially:dunno: So after the last incident on the M6 while driving in the third lane in 50mph roadworks with multiples of cars to the side and front of me where a "gentleman" drove up fast right behind me and was so close that I couldn't even see his bonnet and that's where he stayed until I "indicated":heehee: to back off to a safe distance I decided to do something I'd been thinking about for ages. This guy wouldn't have had a chance of stopping without hitting me if the traffic ahead had come to a sudden stop as they're prone to do, I know it would be his fault in an insurance claim but it's still "frustrating" to see driving like that.
So I've, today, had front and rear Dashcams fitted. Now while I know it won't change other peoples reckless and uncaring driving I have a least a record of what happened should the worst happen.......and less chance of the usual "it wasn't my fault, Guv".:wallbanging::snorky:

Spent 4 hours working over at the lottie with Mr Kandy before heading for home as we were pretty tied by then.Cooked dinner and then I had a quick shower after we had eaten just as the men’s semi final tennis had started:biggrin:

What We didn’t realise was that it would go on for 6 hours and 36 minutes before Kevin Anderson finally beat John Isner and the last set was 26-24 about the longest set in the history of Wimbledon :wow:

In between all this I managed to hang out a line of washing which will get ironed at some point over the weekend:biggrin:

Getting fed up already with the Nadal Djokovic game so will probably sit and watch Celebrity 5 go caravvaning on 5+1 at 9pm:snorky:

PS Woo Hoo they are even staying at Castlerigg Hall where we stay in the Lake District which has the best views over Derwent Water especially if you get the top pitches:snorky:

@ARMANDII I agree that people somehow think other drivers have ESP instead of using their communication system/lights. Frustrating particularly when you see it's because they're breaking another highway traffic law, distracted driving by having their phone to their ear or texting.

I had some tests today. Thank goodness it wasn't an IQ test because my brains are pretty scrambled todaay.

Went to do a little grocery shopping and when I went back to my van and opened the side slider to load groceries in, discovered a man sitting in the driver's seat.... oooops,,,,, my bad, not my van

I hope he didn't mess himself ... I apologized and he was gracious about my mistake.

                    .

There are getting ready for when the driverless car come as they won't need to do anything any way

Had one for about a year as i seen farmer george in this green john deere slam his brakes on and stoped then he had a go at the person behind, as drivers are geting more angry i thought i'd better get one, already it's paid off with seeing things and giving footage to the police

Installed the front garden path timber edging today.

                        2 issues:

1 - with the aid of a computer, I calculated precisely how much timber I needed - ordered the correct amount - and somehow ended up with a large piece of timber going spare?

2 - I've been 'working' from 10am to 4pm non stop - wanted to get the job done - I will pay for it tonight and no doubt tomorrow.

@strongylodon my heart goes out to you. Sitting in vigil during a time when there is no hope has to be one of the saddest experiences. I remember feeling so helpless. But you know you are there and I genuinely believe they do.

Luckily that period of visiting goes quickly and although grieving will follow, you will be able to have fond conversations with others and always she will be in your thoughts. I still look skyward and tell my BFF, I know, I know, don't do that Lori...

You will always have her. You may have her hair type, or her eye colour or even some gestures like hers. You will never lose her. Hold her hand now. Stroke her brow and let her feel your love.

                                Hugs and tears ,
                                Lori
