I was cold before that and then even colder when walking the boys.

We have private dentist, it's not much more than the NHS. We have dental plan insurance for 2 checkups and 2 hygienist treatments a year. The dentist sold his practice to another one and went private in Henley in Arden not far from us, it's just 10 minutes to get there.

I 'm just glad they've finally made their mind up. Our particular dentist went private a couple of years back,it just got generally confusing as to who was and who wasn't. My sister goes to the same practice and her's went private last year.
At least they all are now.

Some treatments work out cheaper going privately.:dbgrtmb:
We have the same plan as you by the sounds of it.

It's just sad to see yet another NHS practice go private.

You were cold before you had the ice cream!!! Nobody could ever get me to eat it in this weather....we don't even store any in the freezer during the Winter months.

Yes we were, we had to go out to the dentist. Came back at 9.30, had the fruit crumble and ice cream straight away and did the walks straight after in the cold.
The only time i don't store ice cream is when I've got all of the Christmas foods in the freezer. We joke about it, when it's cold we have ice cream and when it's hot we have custard.:dbgrtmb:

The NHS dental practice that we used to go to, every few years my dentist would change for no reason, perhaps because that dentist went private.
Yes it sounds as if you have the same dental plan, can pay a bit more to have more checkups and hygienist. I'm not covered for anything else.

After a puruse of the garden I decided it was way too wet . So did some seed sorting and selecting for sowing soon.

This afternoon .....we are now wrapping up to face our high temperature of today...1C...and go on a ( long ish.....1 hour+ ) walk , a bit apprehensive as we still had a layer of thick frost out there. But the cobwebs need to be blown away and the body needs exercising, so here goes!!!!!

I met a friend for brekkie and then dropped of a birthday card for one of the 15 year old granddaughters at my son's workplace out in Hamilton. Had a sad conversation about another of his girls. She has been diagnosed with Aplastic anemia. He's gone for blood tests to see if he can donate stem cells. This is the son who I am driving to his appointment on Valentine's day for a biopsy on his vocal chords so they can look more closely at suspected cancer cells :sad:

I did go into the industrial (steel mills) part of Hamilton to grab some woolly nylon thread but couldn't get out fast enough. It was filthy outside there. The thick fog even looked dirty. I walked through the snow on the front lawn to clean my shoes before coming into the house.

I'll be going back out in a couple of hours to pick up grandson from work as his car is in the shop.

But in the meantime, I'm just sitting, looking outside at the haze and pining for spring!

I watched a Place in the Sun. It was Madeira so I was interested. Then a programme about People moving to the sun doing things they have never done before !!! It never appealed to me to have a B&B and clean up after strangers and feed them.:rolleyespink::runforhills:

I saw the Madeira one too Vicky, have to say that I wasn't too keen on the place, a tad too rocky and hilly for my liking

Agree a B&B certainly wouldn't be my idea of fun things to do in the sun either.:thud::nonofinger:

Upsy, no I didn't like it either and what folk don't realise when they want these massive rooms (like that party basement), is how much it will cost to heat/cool them.
