This afternoon went to see keith, he had oral thrush from meds he has to take for MS. But better now after medicine.

Did some card making, going every week instead of fortnight.

Went to see keith, he had a relapse in the week. He got stressed out about his carers that come in the morning and evening. Some don't know what to do and he keeps complaining but it doesn't make any difference. They keep sending new ones that don't know anything.
But he's fine now, he gets better after a few days.
Got a lot of embellishments to put on his cards. Also got some stamping to do.

Do you try and have a talk with the people in charge of the carers?

Apart from the usual paperwork we've been going to flower and horticultural shows (it's that time of year) and helping them raise money for charity. Mainly the charity part is the flower shows which are usually for local churches and some smaller local charities. We give them plants for sale and books for their bookstall - from our plants for sale stock and our book stock that's stored for next Open Day.

We're in the midst of having overdone the dinner invitations :rolleyespink: and have had friends round for the last two nights and more coming today and tomorrow  :phew:

No not me but he has a carer during the day, she's going to sort them out. Went yesterday and he started to have another relapse, he loses the use of his hands and can't think well.
                  Thanks:smile:

Good day today, my copy of my latest book arrived for proof reading. Ninth book, but still a great thrill.

Brilliant :yay:. Sounds good. :blue thumb: When does it go on sale? Why not advertise it on here as I'm sure you would get permission?

Do you do all your own proof reading? Or is it just the final proof?

I found that doing my own original proof reading, no matter how careful I thought I was, was not all that successful. I found that out when I gave the proof to my sister (a many published poet and children's story writer) and she found quite a few errors and was also able to make suggestions. Then it went to a friend who was a writer, journalist and proof reader and he found some more!

Son does the editing and between us we find most, if not all the errors. They are mostly typos.
This copy is for final proof reading. The books are on sale on Amazon. Did them originally just for family so not too bothered if we do not sell any. Amazon set the price, I do not bother taking any royalties.
Own proof reading is a minefield as you tend to read what ought to be there as opposed to what is actually there.

That was the trouble I found. :blue thumb: I thought I could do it easily but soon realised I was wrong - and mine were only guide books! :noidea:

I haven't written any for years and there's only one still in print. A couple of years ago I took all the remaining books away from the wholesalers and now give them to specific shops to sell to raise money for Mountain Rescue. All donations go to the charity and they're selling about 50 per month, so should run out sometime in 2020 :fingers crossed:

@shiney Did you write Fly Fishing by J R Hartley? It is rather old.
