Your Day (apart from gardening) - what took place?

One of my friends has actually got the book “Fly Fishing” by J R Hartley.Dont know where she obtained it from as I thought it was made up for the advert but it must be true if Shiney has the follow up book. By the way my friend has never been anywhere near a fishing rod in her life and I don’t think she will be going near one any time soon

All those who have read them are very complimentary. Not that that is anything to go by, most people are far too nice to say bad things about them.

 

Beatrix Potter started off the same way. Look what happened to her.

Well, I have been writing them for 50 years without publishing any until the last couple of years.

 

Never thought that they were good enough to inflict on anyone but the family (who had no choice).

 

I would like to show a Blackadder clip but the BBC is funny about copywrite. Apologise if I've used this reference before.

Blackadder, George and Baldrick have been coorced into entering a painting competition. George's painting turns out to be rather Good.

Blackadder: You never told me you could paint.
George: One doesn't like to blow one's own trumpet.
Blackadder: You could have at least told me you had a trumpet.
