Hi @Palustris I'm assuming, maybe wrongly, that you have a food intolerance. If so, then a Molly cake may be a solution for you. It is gluten, sugar, dairy (butter), egg free and taste similar to Christmas cake - it's a moist rich fruit cake. I can't access my recipes at the moment but I've grabbed this off the internet.

Definitely Lactose intolerant, so no white sauce. But the reason for not being able to eat Christmas pudding is much more mundane. There are usually only the two of us for Christmas dinner and my wife is Diabetic and there is no point making a pudding just for me.
We do have a Vegan Fruit cake recipe which I have used in the past as Christmas pudding, but served with Soya cream.

All the bought ones we have ever tried have been utterly disgusting when compared to proper ones. I would rather do without than settle for second best.
That is the reason why I do not eat any of the spreads, if I cannot have proper butter then I'll do without altogether.

I made Christmas pud, the ingredients cost me a fortune and I trekked for miles to find the particular ale the recipe called for ( delia ) we all took turns stirring, for luck, dropped the coin in and correctly wrapped it in my mother in laws pudding bowl.
                          It's still in the cupboard!
There's that much booze in it it might still be ok :noidea: but I'm guessing it's been there 4 years now:yikes:
Anyway, the making of it will stay with me, even if it goes in the bin.
Thankfully mother in law didn't need her bowl back:biggrin: and I have happy memories :spinning:

Today I've stayed indoors, it's been blowing a hooley :windy:

                            Yes of course.:)
3lb of ordinary oranges and lemons.
                            5lb of granulated sugar
1pt and a quarter of water.
I use a slicer to slice the fruit and then cut the them into smaller pieces.
If you haven't got one, use a hand held juicer and then slice the peel to the thickness that you want.

Put the peel, juice and water in a pressure cooker.
Bring up to pressure with the medium weight and cook for 10 minutes
Have to make sure that it's cooked before adding sugar

Then add sugar, bring to boil and cook for 25 minutes.
Test it by putting a bit on a cold side plate. I put it in the freezer for a couple of minutes.
Warm the jars before you fill them.

If you haven't got a pressure cooker it's going to take longer to soften the peel before putting the sugar in.
I did 2 lots of it to make the amount of 8 jars.

You can use any combination of fruit as long as there's lemons in it.

                            I hope that helps.:)

Yesterday went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned.
Today went to see my dishy dentist for my checkup and my teeth are doing well.

Did start to get gum disease but using the T-Pe brushes in between my teeth made a difference.

I sadly spent the day having pre-ops for a Revision on the Hip Replacement I had done in December 2014. Should be in October and I SO look forward to pottering in my jungle again!
