Apart from gardening in the rain this morning, we have also been into town and done the grocery shop. Have now cooked and cleared away dinner things and enjoying a cuppa before heading back outside to continue with the earlier tasks.

At least the rain has gone

A job I'd been putting off "for a rainy day."

My wife said this morning "How many rainy days do you need?"

Replaced the discoloured silicone between the tiles and the shower tray.
Had to get the old stuff off first, I find it's hard to work on my knees in a confined space...at my age.

I was using the "latest" sort of masking tape, really thin, it would rather stick to itself than anything else and it's designed to tear rather than unroll. Anyway... Job done.

            Not exactly today...
Me and Aunt Sally have been away for for the last couple of weeks, and only now have access to WiFi. The highlight has been our 5 days in the Lake District, even tough it rained most of the time:doh:@shiney kindly gave us a guide book for walks when we visited for his open day. We opted for a walk out of Elterwater, a walk of some 5 miles or so. It was all good, but the one abiding memory is the view looking up at the Langdales, absolutely stunning....
            94F51AA4-0ECA-43E8-8C15-D5F00ADBE67F.jpeg

            A couple more...

            934E8B6E-1F07-4D82-A77D-180CDAFFE308.jpeg 0D852DBF-7872-46ED-AB4A-B65ACDB25EF8.jpeg

Unfortunately, the last part of the walk was pretty tough, descending a very rocky/stoney bridle way back into Elterwater, that did my knees in. Probably time to get some ‘proper’ walking boots and some walking poles? Anyway, all was good with a pint of cider, at The Britannia Inn :)

The perfect day :) I think everyone should visit The Langdale area, just once in their life. I’m sure @SteveR would agree :)

Went to see Aladdin today, and now can't get the song 'A Whole New World' out of my head. Strange how certain songs stick. Love the story though it reminds me of our middle son who kept asking us to buy the video of the animated version back in 1992. We still have it today!!:)

This morning, I rang the guy who services my car each year, as I noticed there was a bit of a "click," when I depressed the clutch. I'd found a couple of YouTube videos uploaded in the past by people who had the same problem. No satisfactory answers were given.
He came round this afternoon to look at it. He said it was the return springs on the pedal which were slightly worn, but it wouldn't be a problem, which was pleasing as I thought it might have been a dodgy master cylinder. He said he'd have another look at it at the next service. if I were worried about it. That's in eleven month's time. I asked him what he wanted for coming round, but he refused to take anything.

@Doghouse Riley you need to do something about the hoodoo hanging over you. I'd be staying in bed with the covers over my head if I had your lousy luck!

Was out to get my teeth cleaned and on the way back I had two choices of routes. Take the one that had the railroad barriers coming down to keep idjits from the freight train tracks or go left and avoid it. I decided to pull up and watch the boxcars go by. A good 4 minutes worth of seeing rusty old cars livened up with fun gravity. If the rail firms weren't going to make them pretty, there were lots of volunteers to brighten up the line :)

And I smiled, with my pristine gums for all to see!

To be fair, this is my second Honda CRV, I've had it from new, it's 14 years old but I've only done 56,000 miles. But a lot of local journeys stopping and starting. I had a new one before that for seven years and a new Honda LSI before that, for three years.
Apart from servicing and tyres the only parts I've had to pay for on any of these Hondas, was a rear diff damper on this one about five years ago (about £200) and front brake pads on this one on the service before the last.

                        I don't think that's too bad.

I still wouldn't want to be you @Doghouse Riley. Coffee makers, toasters, cars, etc. You've got bad karma or ....

I hope it changes soon :fingers crossed:

I'm happy that any of my repairs weren't worth mentioning. Lucky Lori :)

We got to the Lakes last Sunday. Before that we were in the southern Peak District for a few days. We’re currently on a site not far from Pickering. Visiting Whitby on Thursday, for some fish n chips from the Magpie Cafe, as recommended by @JWK :)
